Sounds like a good response. Mc Carthy is organizing a few walks for

autism. I wish I could go to Chicago as that is the town nearest Des Moines. An

autism diagnosis contrary to what some believe does not mean there is no

hope. I am sure you agree. My son has autism, apraxia, juvenile diabetes,

mental retardation, history of sensory integration disorder , Jeanie Mistletoe

has

a son with autism. The second largest group on this board has autism and

apraxia. 'Reasonable People' is a book about autism and adoption. It is about a

child diagnosed with MR and autism who is now on the honor roll. According to

'Sue Robbins' and her quotes which are included in the book many autistic

people have apraxia. I cannot change the beliefs of some people who give

negative impressions of others who are handicapped but I think the world is

becoming more opened minded thank goodness. I know that when talks about

autism

and apraxia she is trying to separate the two because the treatment is

different and I am sorry for those who misunderstand. I have sat in the room

full

of autistic kids and they can sit down and follow directions while my son has

not been able too.
