Guest guest
I have read The Late Talker and learned so much! I feel like there is still much more I need to be aware of in starting this process. My first matter regards to specific insurance questions. My husband's work provides BCBS. There are a couple of pediatric SLP who are very familiar with apraxia here in Knoxville,TN. One does not take any insurance (of course she is my favorite) and the other place called Child and Parent Services (who I have heard great things about) will not take BCBS. The is a SLP here who takes our BCBS but does not specalize in peds or apraxia. Is it worth the extra money to get additional/separate insurance on my 2yr old son simply so he can be " covered " under Child and Parent Services? I am worried that the covered insurance (either aetna or united) will deny the claim. Once you factor in coinsurance and deductibles how much relief do you actually get from insurance? Is there a certain company that is better than others for these type of billing claims? The certainty of paying out of pocket is mildly appealing, however, we are a very young family who is financially struggling as it is. Any advise and/or expierience would be much appreciated!
