I have relatives in Rye with typical kids, and they like the schools

for them. (They switched from a prep school environment to public.)

I'll ask them if they have any scoop on the special services. Will

post if I find out anything useful.

A friend of my cousins has a child who is deaf and moved from one

part of West Chester to another to get better school services for her

son who is reading at 4 and doing well. I emailed my cousin for the

info. Whatever I get I will pass on.

Cousin's friends response:

I would happily recommend Katonah because of the tight knit

community and small town feel...lots of people knowing your kid is a

comforting thing.

But many school districts in Westchester County are great because of

the " early intervention " philosophy.

They really pile on the services early and we have been impressed.

I also vote for northern Westchester (having grown up in White

Plains) because of all the

natural beauty and country feel, etc.
