,

I am disappointed to continually hear you discredit the mothers and fathers

on this board who are using and finding success with DAN!. There are highly

credited MDs who are DANs!. Have you heard of Autism Speaks? Have you heard

of Dr. Jepson? Obviously you have heard of Dr. Bock by now.

These are just examples of some of the top DANs. Sure there are DANs who are

not the best. There are MDs who are just less than professional as well.

Actually, Autism Speaks will be at my company for a breakfast on March 12 to

speak about the upcoming Autism walk in Atlanta in April. I work for a very

conservative communications company, by the way. We are committed to

environment and the Autism Walk. It is exciting to see!

But there comes a time when " you keep doing what you are doing and you will

keep getting what you are getting " continues to occur. And when that time

happens it is parents like myself, yourself and other speech seekers who

have the personality and drive to challenge the systems that fail us.

Several years back that drive led you to write a great book which was the

beginning of my journey to healing my son. I am forever greatful.

Now, I can't change your mind on your beliefs, nor would I try. I need to

maintain my energy and focus on healing my son. Respectfully, I would like

to see less fighting on this board and not such narrow-mindedness toward

healing the whole body with vitamins, minerals, and diets.

My son is thriving and so is yours. We just took two different paths to

heal. After all, they are two different kids. I am just a mom who is trying

to do what I feel is right.

Thanks for Reading,

GFCF Diet (long response)

late talkers don't always take years of therapy...some don't

even need any because in 75% of the cases it's developmental and they

will just start talking. There are also tons of archives from

parents who have a child that was diagnosed apraxic or PDD who just

did speech therapy and gave fish oils who have children that were

mainstreamed and talking fine by kindergarten. It's pretty

simple.

I don't understand why you feel you need to see a Dan -

especially since you say that you haven't met a highly qualified Dan

and both your Dan people are MDs (as we know some are not)

For those just starting out -here's another Dan who also doesn't

appear to be qualified no less highly qualified

tch.co.uk/wp/?p=584 from Left Brain Right Brain

May also want to check this out before you choose a Dan

(click on the link " Dan doctors " and then click on US or UK)

Again many of us including me never went this route. I only took my

children to see highly qualified medical doctors.
