Guest guest
started her residential program today. Bringing her down to the school was easier than I thought. We had no problems (knock on wood) with her when we had to leave her at the school. I just called her 'cottage' and they tell me that she is adjusting pretty well. The only problem we had today was with her (now EX) psychiatrist. I told him as soon as we knew where she was going that he'd have to send down a report along with the prescriptions for the medications she is on. Last Saturday, my mother and I took down for an appointment. But apparently, we didn't have one. (I had called him a couple of weeks ago to let him know that her liver function tests came back elevated. (She was on Trileptal which can affect the liver). I also told him that I needed the report/scripts as soon as possible since she was starting school on 8/5. He asked me if I thought we should cancel the appointment. I said I wasn't sure but would get back to him. I didn't get a chance to get back to him, so I went to the appointment anyway (since if I MISSED the appointment, I would have had to pay for it anyway.) So on Saturday we discovered that we did not have an appointment after driving all the way down there (about a half an hour using the 'short cut') He was also very rude to my mother when she reminded him that we needed the prescriptions from him so that could get the medications at the school. So today we get down to the school and there are still no prescriptions for . The nurse called the psychiatrist to try to get him to fax them down. The psych asked her if there was a psychiatrist on staff at the school. When he was told that there was, he said 'Have them call me' and HUNG UP THE PHONE! The nurse then called the school psychiatrist, who ordered the medication for (actuallly, he/she just ordered the Clonidine, since we had planned to take her off the Trileptal anyway (she had developed a tic from the medication in addition to the suspected liver problems - which btw we retested her for... I'm waiting to hear the results of the last set of tests.) Well, that's the latest from here. Patti R.
