Guest guest
Their only concern was the end-of-course tests where NO extra time is > allowed, even for IEP kids (no exceptions). I told them he may not > even need it so if they see during the semester that " hmmm...he'll > need it " to call me. NO extra time is allowed, even for IEP kids (no exceptions). ***************No exceptions my rear !!!!! You need to research that one, I know Bradley got extra time on his IEP and it was only in place " in case " of a situation. (which he wound up needing it because he messed up on the Spanish section. He went down the paper 1, 2, 3 instead of across the paper 1, 2, 3 - so he got all upset, ripped his paper - etc. etc. and they finished the test - afterwards when all the other kids were having free time - he retook the Spanish section and aced it. no problem with what he knew - just a communication problem with the directions.) definitely look that up - just in case you need it And I mentioned no friends and a good target for teasing due to his mannerisms/oddness. They seemed to think that wouldn't happen there; yeah, right! ***********WOW!!!!!!!!! That's a relief, what a weight off your shoulders. Finally a school where there isn't any teasing. ;o) > I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it all goes, homework, > late work, extra time on testing, etc. But so far things look good. > (please don't let me have just jinxed it!!!) > > >*****- Good luck - hang in there - take care Dawn >

Every other test allows for it, just not these. Don't know if it has been challenged anywhere. They do allow read alouds, but no extra time. They are not graded like most tests. The Geometry test given last year could be passed with a 54% I believe. A lot of my IEP kids did as well or better than the other kids. The other part is that UNFORTUNATELY you can beat the system by answering any question you don't know with the same letter answer and by answering every question no matter what. Only takes a few right answers to get it. Does NOT promote learning IMO however. Debbie in NC
