100 g of protein seems high.

If the carbs are low GI, why worry as long as they are from nutritionally dense

veggies.

26 g of fat is OK as long as you are getting < 8 g Omega 6, ~ 3 g Omega 3 & ~

0.6 g DHA + EPA, very little AA &

saturated fat.

Use KIM to checkout the Omega stuff (and get your tissue ratio of n6l < 50 %) as

Walford's DWIDP doesn't discriminate

between PUFAs (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids) or calculate the rate of tissue

uptake of PUFAs.

Forget Dr. Sears 30:40:30. It's a pipe dream.

Hello Everyone,

I'm Leonard in L.A., age 65, and I'm just getting started on this. Any

tips for a raw recruit? I'm starting in full tilt, after having seen

the Alda/Walford interview on PBS the other night.

Also someone asked about BMI -- I think 14 is the number to shoot for,

not sure though.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone, and to reclaiming health!

Hi Trust,

The only ratio i planned was walford's salad which is 63c/16 p/21f, by my

analysis of the ingredients. Then i modified it to remove the stuff my

system doesn't tolerate and the result was 62/19/20. FYI, in " The Okinawa

Program " , pg 425, ref 17, the author states they eat a 55/20/25.

Regards.

At 1800 calories - these turn out to be my ratios:

65% carb/22% protein/13% fat

I was shooting for something different! lol

I'm interested in hearing the ratios others have, if

you plan a specific ratio and why?

Thanks in advance!
