Guest guest
Hi -- Saw your question about hair color. My daughter, , was diagnosed with AIH in 2001 and took (in my opinion) preposterously high levels of prednisone augmented by Imuran. She was twelve at the time -- about a year and a half later she went into remission, where she has remained. (I took her to the Mayo clinic and then took her off the pred, which they recommended --the doctors at CHOP in Philadephia seemed to want her to stay on 60 mgs. per day for another YEAR.) Anyhow, 's hair definitely changed color -- it developed really great red highlights which have remained to this day. People think she has dyed it, but she hasn't. I think it was the prednisone. She gained a lot of weight which she hasn't really ever been able to lose, although the puffiness in her face went down. Since prednisone affects hormone levels and the hair is very influenced by hormones, my amateur theory is that the pred gave her beautiful red -- at least it gave her something!!!!! Thanks. Guest guest
I have a question for anyone that can answer it.My eyes have been burning and itching really bad for about 2 weeks now. I had my Granddaughter-in law to look at them last night and she said they had some yellow down at the bottoms of them. I don't have my levels checked until next month. They were down on my last visit to the Dr..What turns yellow first/ Eyes, hands or what ? My skin isn't yellow..My bilirubin has to be up right ? Guest guest
Dianna, I noticed the jaundice around the eye before my skin turned yellowish. I was dx over 5 years ago and if I saw yellow again I would go get my levels checked soon. Good luck, take care. --- Dianna Ashmore <ashmore_6@...> wrote: > I have a question for anyone that can answer it.My > eyes have been burning and itching really bad for > about 2 weeks now. Guest guest
, I had to chuckle when you said at least the Predisone gave her something...I too gained alot of weight and haven't been able to take it off. I would be kind of neat to have different color hair for a change it has been a very long time. My youngest is 12 and never seen me with anything other than white..so I guess we will wait and see. Thanks to everyone for the responses I will see what the doc has to say also. Sometimes they don't know the answers in this disease either and when I can go in and say I have this going on and so to so many other people on this support group I belong to do also she writes it down for future refrence etc. Thanks again and I hope enjoys those free hightlights. lol Jennie Re: [ ] Digest Number 4225 Hi -- Saw your question about hair color.
