Guest guest
Congratulations, !! I bet I wouldn't recognize you if I saw you... I'm sure you look wonderful. Guest guest
Terri, Hi! So good to hear from you. Yes, this is my new email. My college age son got us kicked off AOL (don't ask!!). I was able to convince them to let me have a new account but I lost all my old files with email addresses, etc. As everyone knows, contacting Dr. R's office for anything was difficult for a while when all h-ll broke loose. When I finally got back on AOL it was with a new email and the egroup wouldn't recognize it so that took another month to resolve. Plus work was incredibly hectic. It just WASN'T a good couple of months. Did you ever receive the box of clothes? I have more now but had lost your information. What size are you in now? I do travel to Raleigh on business every 5-6 weeks so maybe we can get together next time in Atlanta

I am the one from FL ... the one who you had the burning ritual in my hotel room just before surgery... LOL!!! I didn't get any clothes ... but I am happily in a 16/18 now... I am so excited - I could just spit...LOL!! Just kidding, of course. Seriously, I was in the 9th grade the last time I wore a 16. I am going to my 10-year high school reunion in July and I can't wait. I am seeing an old best friend that has no idea I had surgery or have lost weight. It will be like going on Riki Lake or something...LOL!! Anyways, it was good to hear from you... I am saving your new address in my address book... I hope everything begins to calm down for you soon. Keep in touch. Please tell your Mom and I said hello. Terri Kirrie :^) MGB 10/12/00 340/232/1??
Guest guest
Oh jeez, I'm sorry Terry. Must have had a senile moment! That is so cool about the size. I am in a 16 too. I wish we could get together and see eachother now. Us littermates are hot babes now. How's enjoying the " new you " ?
Guest guest
Lara, I got the email and I replied saying that I couldn't possibly take off of work and drive to Durham all of those times. I didn't read it as a requirement, just something that he'd like for us to do. Perhaps if he went back to Saturday clinics. Also, I have a problem with choking down the gas money to drive to Durham to tell him that I am perfectly fine. Are we gonna get some kind of examination, or just talk to him? Too bad teleconferencing isn't something we can all easily do... perhaps in a few years. in VA > Hey, > Just wanted to tell everyone the news. I am six months out today and have > lost 105 pounds. Guest guest
Hi, Good news for me today ! My neurosurgeon told me that my brain tumour has stopped growing. They will check again in 1 year's time, but the outlook is good. This is fab..it means my CR diet (2 and a half years now) and my supplements actually worked :-) If anyone is interested regarding the supplement, the URL is http://www.cili-bao.co.za/ I heard about it via word of mouth from several email contacts in South Africa who had cured their dogs of cancer using Cili Bao. Despite the lack of evidence that it gets rid of cancer in humans (no trials have been done AFAIK), I was desperate and prepared to try anything (plus I am intolerant to flax seed/oil and couldn't use that instead, and I could never get the broccoli seeds to grow successfully). Cili bao is actually the Roxburghii Fruit which is rich in naturally occurring Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) 220,000 iu per 100g fruit, Vitamin C (Esterified) and contains an Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, and BIO-Flavonoids, Trace Elements + Amino Acids. I would be interested in feedback from anyone who knows anything about the Superoxide Dismutase as I have read conflicting reports about its benefit for cancer sufferers. All I can say is that it has worked for me so far. Yes I would have been happier if the tumour had shrunk, but I'll settle for no growth and lack of pain, thanks very much. Thanks to all (especially Francesca, Joe, Warren) for their support in the last 6 months.
Guest guest
: how good to hear from you and with such good news!! You've been missed on the list. How about other recommendations that were made? Did you ever try Shiitake mushrooms, for example, famed for their anti-cancer properties? Are you also using any conventional cancer fighting treatments or not? > Hi, > > Good news for me today ! My neurosurgeon told me that my brain tumour has > stopped growing. Guest guest
, Congratulations on your terrific weight loss! I for one have been watching your progress closely (since we were close to the same starting weight and your a month or so ahead of me) and I'm soooo happy to see that you are still having great success with your MGB. I only hope I will follow in your footsteps (I'm already following in the daily scale stepping routine...LOL). Tonya in MN 3-28-01 Dr. R. 6 Month Update Here I am again, to dutifully report my 6-month update. After a decrease in my loss in month #5, I wasn't expecting to have a big loss this past month, and thought I was on the slow-down path. Instead, it was my best month since the first 2 months postop, which just goes to show, you never know what to expect or how to predict what weight loss will be like for each individual person. I'm still having some 1 to 2-week plateaus, which drive me slightly nuts since I am a daily scale-stepper, but I am trying to learn patience. Here's a rundown of my 6 months of weight loss: Month 1: 29 lb Month 2: 20 lb (49) Month 3: 10 lb (59) Month 4: 14 lb. (73) Month 5: 9 lb. (82) Month 6: 15 lb. (97) Total: 97 lb. lost My 6 month goal was a lofty one, 100 lb. And I'm honestly tickled pink to be so close to that goal, because I thought there was just no way I could achieve it. My 1 year goal is to get below 200, which will be 37 more pounds. I hope that's doable, we'll just have to wait and see. I can still eat pretty much anything I want, but I've found that if I eat too much fatty junk too often, or if I skip meals, I get an achy spot on my far far left upper abdomen, under my ribs. It seems way too far to the left to be my stomach pouch causing the pain, but it may be " referred pain " . I had about 3 episodes of this pain within a 2 week span early this month, and although the discomfort was fairly mild, I was worried. I was going through some major life stress with a serious family illness, and I wasn't eating regularly or healthily. I took Carafate for several days, and restarted my Prevacid. The discomfort went away quickly and hasn't returned, and I've continued on with the daily Prevacid. I've never had any vomiting, never had any acid or bile reflux (thank God). I try to be careful about what I eat near bedtime, and I sleep slightly elevated just as a precaution. My hair loss has slowed to just slightly more than average. I'm getting lots of people noticing and complimenting me, and that's difficult, as I've spent most of my life trying to stay out of the spotlight in regard to my appearance. It feels uncomfortable to have attention drawn to my body, even if it's positive attention. I still feel very fat, and when I hear all the exclamations of how good I look, I wonder just how awful I looked before... I think " Geeze, I must have been disgusting! " Old thought patterns are a hard thing to change. I can't imagine a day when I won't feel fat and unsightly anymore... but I feel SO much better than I did 6 months ago. As a close friend told me just after my surgery... losing the weight will be only a fraction of the change we will each experience. I wish you all good health and happiness.
