Smacking or spanking kids is really not a subject for our list - which is for

dealing with kids who have AS or HFA. As the list owner, I would come up

with ideas other than spanking to deal with kids who have AS or HFA based on the

ideas involved with behavior modification and that fact that adversives are

only a temporary fix. Whether anyone wants to spank their kids or not spank

them is not really a topic for this list and we will deal with alternative ways

to handle behaviors - the decision on how to handle our individual kids,

spanking or otherwise, are left up to readers to determine.

People who spank their kids are going to think they are doing the right thing

- those who do not spank think they are doing the right thing and this

discussion could go on endlessly with nothing but a division growing between

" sides. "

A disagreement is not against list rules but now nobody is posting except to

say their way is best so we need to move on to another subject. If anyone

would like to continue the spanking discussion, please post each other

privately.
