He has a speech delay and says a lot of words " wrong " . We were in the grocery store one day and he kept pointing to the orange juice while yelling " hoe jew " over and over again. When I went to his first IEP meeting, I had to give a list of ALL the words he said that sounded like something bad. Such as the orange, juice, truck (f**k), sit (s**t). So, I have this fear of him saying things such as " I want to sit with the toy truck and have my orange juice " . Which in his language would come out " I want to s**t with the toy f**k and have my hoe jew " . (I think you get the idea) LOL He starts pre-k this coming Monday. The last thing I want is for my 3 year old to be sent home because they don't know what a " hoe " is....lol

Guest guest
They'll cope. When I taught preschool (ages 2-1/2 - 6), I had 2 kids who were completely nonverbal at first. For the first one, the mom wouldn't hear of speech therapy, so my aide and I just worked with him, and he came along fine. For the second one, I had a slp come in three times a week. Preschool teachers get used to preschoolese pretty quickly. Things like: my oozhes (my shoes) and so on. That was a fun job. Too bad the pay was so bad.
