Hooray! > > Liz Ugh, I just wrote a reply to this and the computer booted it! lol. Anyway, i'm glad to hear you got the schedule fixed. It is really important!!! I spent an hour with the counselor changing royce's before school started so he would be all set. The first day of school, the sped people realized we had changed his schedule, messing up their aide schedule, so they immediately started changing royce's schedule back to it's original state. Then they changed their minds (the computer locked up, lol) and they tried to change it back to the new schedule we put together. Only now, one of the classes was closed so they had to switch two classes. They told him about the switch only he didn't understand what they were talking about and went to the classes on his schedule. The teacher then kicked him out of the classroom as he wasn't on her list. He did what I told him to do - went to his tutor's room for help. But they didn't know that and they got nervous since they had now lost my son. Nobody can explain where the aide was during all of this! But she wasn't with him! He only told me part of this - I pulled the rest of it out of them later on. But that night, he froze up. He just started crying and couldn't tell me what was wrong. They said when they located him at the school that day, he looked like he was going to cry so it was apparently extremely stressful for him. He ended up not going to school yesterday and I had a meeting to find out what was going on. Finally he is back today and I hope it goes well. The men in suits told me to just tell him he *has* to go to school even when things go wrong. They so do not get autism - as if he was just choosing not to attend. ugh. I should have replied that they *have* to make school a place he can come to but I was too flustered to have thought of it at the time. I hope things improve for you soon! in Massachusetts

Guest guest
I don't know whether the schedule actually worked yet. I just know what it's supposed to look like. LOL As you all know, computer glitches and all sorts of things can happen between now and Tuesday. I'm not counting my chickens yet. How did Royce's second day go? I don't blame him for staying home for a day. What's with the aide? Isn't it, like, her job to help avoid things like that? I think it can only go up from here. Guest guest
<<<<<<<I don't know whether the schedule actually worked yet. I just know what it's supposed to look like. >> lucky you !! we are starting this year without a schedule all together. the personal aide is not coming yet. I have not succeeded to speak with the new teacehr ahead of time. and ds is SO tight about school restarting. the psych says it is a good sign that he is tuned into reality........ :-) he has a unique prespective , this psych.......:-) anyway, we celebrated the end of the vacation by looking at the vacations schedule and taking a second look at all our activities and short trips, remembering waht was fun and nice.... then I made Chocolate Fondu with pieces of fruits (a tradition dear son started two years ago at the end of summer vacation) and we alo had vanilla icecream with fresh paciflora....... now they are all in bed, very excited about going back to school (dd starts a new school, baby goes to nursery!) and I think I am more nervous than all of them together....... New dog is still with us. Dh is having outbursts of " take him a way " ehich is a good sign he is liking it...... another sign is he named the dog (Herman).....teh dog is beautiful, gorgeous, certainly smarter than our resident dog, extremely CALM and played so nicelywith teh children, inclusing our two year old....... we don't know what to do. we cannot have two, and although we never trully enjoyed the resident dog - he is really really stupid and wild, never learned anything beyond " sit " and has never really been a copanion for the kids which was the purpose of bringing him in- we find it hard to let him go after 4 years = not to mention the implications for ds (you give up someone who does not fit your expectations ???????? he is one of the family !!!!!!!!!!!) Today ds said eh really likes this dog and feels it can be a good friend to him, much more than our resident dog. how right he is! our resident dog could be a good guard dog, so we would look for a place that needs one, not just throw him, of course, away) . we also pity him as he must be tied at all times because he is so wild and unpredictable. the only thing he has as a plus by us id taht becaue he wi wild and tied he looks very threatening to people so they don't dare coming near our yard. ..... but i don't knwo if the dog would withstand the test if someone came in and petted him with nice words.... anyway, we have now Boggart and Herman and we don'tknow what to do. I have given doga away before, but never out of choice. this is really hard on us. well, good luck everybody with school ! please forgive me not replying ot all post, I got over 100 today..... love, F LOL As you all know, computer glitches and all sorts of things can happen between now and Tuesday. It seems like just the other day you were pregnant! lol. we also pity him as he must be tied at all times because he is so wild and unpredictable. the only thing he has as a plus by us id taht becaue he wi wild and tied he looks very threatening to people so they don't dare coming near our yard. ..... but i don't knwo if the dog would withstand the test if someone came in and petted him with nice words.... > anyway, we have now Boggart and Herman and we don'tknow what to do. I think Boggart sounds like he wants to live in the country where he can run around instead of being tied up. That might be your " out " with the dog...and it would be nice for the dog too if you found such a home! Roxanna
