Hi all, I don't write often and don't find time to participate much. I hope

that I don't get kicked off because of that. My son was recently diagnosed with

AS, so I am just beginning with this. He is 10 and can get very stuck on

things. When he gets it in his mind that he wants to do something or earn money

to

buy something, he can't quite with it. It drive us nuts. He has to do it!

Sooner or later he usually manages what he wants, which could mean he has wore

us

down. Does anyone know of any medications that might help this

compulsiveness? Thanks, Lydia , WY

Loved that one. Yes, it's about the only thing that works.

Perseveration, a two-edged sword.:)

Firstly I am not medically qualified: I am a Scientist.

When you have a blood test the results come back with a hospital / laboratory

range and that

is the only range to use with your results - Hence why we always ask for the

range when

quoting results.

Do not look at other ranges as these might be quite wrong for your blood test

result.

Each laboratory decides how they will  test for something and so the ranges can

vary for the

type of testing even for the same item such as Testosterone, Haemocrit etc etc.

Free Testosterone levels are not that useful when considering a patients'

overall profile as it

can change within seconds whereas Total testosterone tends to stay the same for

a longer

period.

Just stopping your testosterone especially for what is a medical emergency when

Haemocrit

is too high is not a problem. You do not want a stroke!!

Telephone your Consultant Endocrinologist and ask for urgent advice or ask his

PA/secretary

to book an urgent appointment but in the meantime stop the Tesosterone so your

blood does

not get any thicker.

As to the Vitamin K - Do you have a blood clotting problem?

Best wishes,

Hello,

I do not have a blood clotting problem as I aware of. I just started taking K2

cause the Japanese eat a lot of K2 in their sier (sushi/noriweed) and they have

much less heart problems than we have here in the West. I also wanted my calcium

to go to my bones instead of staying in my arteries. K2 helps with this.

However, I guess it could really make my blood thicker. So I quit it today. I

took 100 mcg daily for 1 year.

I am still confused about free testosterone, total testosterone etc. What is

serum testosterone? And in norway there s such a thing ss testosterone index

which is free multiplied with 10 times the SHBG value.

Have you seen my labs from before and under TRT?

Did new hematocrit and hemoglobin tonight. No impovment yet. Its web

thicker/more volume now.
