You got another one here with this one. I picked my DS at school one day to

find that two kids took his shoe and was playing monkey in the middle with it.

DS wasn;t sure if it was fun or not just that someone was letting him play with

them. The kids are 2 years younger than he. Now he understands more about this

type of behavior. It's slow but we are getting there.

Update Re: ( ) I give up.

kids are being mean to him at first. Once I caught the kids at

church (!) playing " run away from the weird kid " and Elias just

thought they were playing chase.

Compound that with the fact that when you ask him what happens, it

doesn't occur to Elias to lie, he'll just say what he did, and it's

just been a disaster.

WOW! Sounds like my son. If I ask if he played at recess he says he

chased the kids around. When I asked why he says they like it. Once I

observed, its exactly what going on. They are running from

the " weird " kid. Tyler is so naive he things they are laughing with

him, not at him. It really breaks my heart.

Last year my son got into alot of trouble at school because kids

would pick on him - when he finally responded the kids would tell the

teacher that Ty was bothering them. When she would ask him the

question " Are you bothering them? " He would answer " Yes " . But he

never explained what was going on to provoke him. Finally I figured

out what was going on and spoke to the teacher about asking more

thorough questions to actually figure out what was going on. It

seemed to help because I quit receiving the notes home about his

behavior.
