Guest guest
Greetings to the group. My 11 yr old son, is having some real behavioral problems as a result accumulating stress from the first 8 weeks of school. His anxiety and ADD seems out of control. We are on Straterra but it doesn't seem to be making a difference. Has anyone had any luck with any other meds lately? At my wits end, Dena
Guest guest
We have had good luck with Adderall, and are about to switch to Adderall XR, to see if that gives coverage for the whole school day. Guest guest
We were on adderall for 5 years then switched to adderrall XR. With the regular adderall we had extreme highs and extreme lows so we had to make sure she had her dose every 4 hours. With the XR it is definately more even but I don't have the extreme highs that I needed at the beginning of the day to get her ready for school or the extreme highs at lunch for her to focus on her work .....For example Its like she would make 100's the first 2 hours of school drop to making 80's then making 40's the last of the 4th hour then back up to 100's at the beginning of the next dose. Now its just even 80's! No highs or lows. Does that make sense? At least when she had the extreme highs we could work around that and get major accomplishments out of her!!! Of corse the lows were LOOOOOOOWWWW! Guest guest
We're giving him a pretty high dose - 40 or 50 mg of Adderall XR. We had to fight big time with the insurance company to get more than 20 mg/day. (He's tall - about 6 feet and weighs about 130) We just got permission today, after 10 days in the system. We'll let you know how it goes. Liz wrote: > We were on adderall for 5 years then switched to adderrall XR. Guest guest
My daughter is about 4 1/2 feet tall and about 70 lbs. She has been taking 30 mg of adderall for YEARS!!! I guess that is why things were going so well. Now she weighs the above and was still taking the same dose as she was at 6 so maybe that is why it stopped working recently???? Good luck!
