Guest guest
Bradley is in first grade and they have art, music, Spanish, computers, and gym and nothing is elective. I am scheduled to have a meeting with his teacher this week and i will explain some things to her then. She seems receptive - I hope she is - so maybe they will work out well this year. Thanks for your concern, I didn't write a note either. My brother was pushing me too and I didn't really feel comfortable with it, he was just saying to get them on the ropes early in the match so I would have some leverage later - I'm not really that kind of person though. I talked to the Principal and she was the person who helped him up and took him to the nurse so she told me what happened and I laughed because I told her his version and then she laughed and said she was glad I was a reasonable parent because a lot of parents would have come in hysterical or real mad demanding to know what happened. Thanks for the suggestion, I will ask her. Here is another one - he told the music teacher " I don't sing and I don't dance. " she said then you won't get a star and he said " That's ok - because I don't sing and I don't dance. " Is this an IEP issue or a BMP issue or what?? anyone know?? I don't want him to fail music but the kid won't sing or dance. Not even at home. I can get him to jump around some but not actually dance. Dawn OH MY! What a day! I'nm sorry he slipped and fell. I don't know if I'd bother writing a note though. It doesn't sound like this was anything, but a minor accident. Sorry about the art project. I find it interesting he will not draw himself. I get the feeling has trouble identifying himself. I wonder if there's a connection? Interesting. Do you think next time they could just give him a different assignment? Last time I checked art was an elective, usually meant to be fun. Hugs, a

Until they show you that they are unreasonable, assume that they are and treat them like they are. What does BMP stand for? I don't know how the music teacher is going to get Bradley to sing and dance if he doesn't want to. I don't have any experience in this specific problem since I don't recall my kids being required to dance, and both are willing to sing (even who can't carry a tune!). It may be that this will have to be addressed in the IEP. Music class should involve learning stuff about music and surely his grades can be based on that and not on whether he actually participates in the singing. What if he were mute? How would they teach him music then and grade him? Kathy

What does BMP stand for? hahahahaha - now I am making up my own abbreviations - I thought it stood for Behavior Modification Plan - I don't know what that thing is called!!! LOL!!! What did you think I meant - bowel movement problem - because he is full of sh*t and he can sing if he wants to?? hahahahahahahaha I don't know how the music teacher is going to get Bradley to sing and dance if he doesn't want to. Kathy **********Even at the winter concert -(Christmas play) Bradley had in K and 1st - he just stood there and looked around - he did ring his bell!!! - and the spring concert (Easter play hahaha) he stood on stage and didn't sing so it isn't like this is something new. I'll bring up the mute question - I have often wished for an on/off switch but I am glad he isn't mute - however, on some days. . . . . . . . . . Guest guest
I guess I just don't care enough about my children's grades in PE, art, music. I've got bigger worries, ykwim? Maybe you can get him an alternative assignment? For the dancing you could use the excuse of religion. My mom did that for me in 6th grade. I can't dance or sing. I didn't see why I needed the extra grief. a
