On my AOL screen, it does this automatically but then lately, when it goes through groups, it smushes everything written together and any marks highlighting the quote is not there anymore.>>> I noticed this, too. All my current lists are groups, and I have to treat them each separately. Sometimes quoted material (by hitting reply) seems to be separated without an effort on my part. Sometimes, it isn't. Now, if I could only remember which one is which. I can post from the website using their antiquated editing system, or either of three computers in the house, two have Outlook and one has Outlook Express. There is probably some sort of pattern as to which program does a better job of auto identifying quotes. But it does seem that no matter what I do sometimes, it sure doesn't come out looking the way I typed it. LOL Jackie
Guest guest
Marj, Chill out. We don't need any lectures on how to post here. It's been working just fine for many years. If you have a problem, please email me off list. Roxanna ö¿ö Autism happens...

Geez, as long as the quote what they are replying to, cut them a little slack, 'kay? Connie
Guest guest
If you put your reply on top, the problem is eradicated. / 4makelas@... Guest guest
I've been using Outlook Express for years and it always puts your response on top of the email you are responding to. I'm certainly not going to start cutting and pasting. Besides, when I receive messages, I appreciate the response being at the top WHERE I CAN FIND IT. I don't know where you are getting your information from, but standard office procedure is to put the quote underneath, and the better mail programs all do this. / 4makelas@... Guest guest
I agree with Liz !!! Our whole day has been wasted on non important issues. Our AS children are what matter not this childish fight over etiquette! We all know where everyone stands and everyone should post it the way that they feel comfortable! > > > I don't know where you are getting your information from, but > > >standard office procedure is to put the quote underneath, and the > > >better mail programs all do this.>>>>>>>>>>> > > > > Here is what I found and the source is at the bottom so here > > it is: > > > > Where is the best place to put your reply? Guest guest
That's exactly why your response should go at the top! / 4makelas@... Way, Way Up in Northern Ontario ----- Original Message ----- From: " kellystar734 " <kellystar734@...> Why send the whole message back in > the reply? Guest guest
" star " , it is also proper " netiquette " to sign your posts, which you have not been doing! You should learn not to believe all that you read on the 'net. Everyone has their own opinion and I'm sure they're all posted somewhere on the 'net, BUT my email program is made by Microsoft and I'm sure they're not wrong! / 4makelas@... Guest guest
I'll third this. My personal preference is to see the reply on top (please note that this is my PERSONAL preference). That way, I don't have to scroll down through stuff I have already read to see the newest response. But to each his/her own. {Apologies to Liz and for keeping this discussion going.} Patti R. Guest guest
I'd go for ease of finding the message any day.....
