Guest guest Posted December 17, 2003 Report Share Posted December 17, 2003 today, after a whole week at home due to the medical problems, I told Mr DS that he needs to study at home, until he goes back to shcool. I gave him three subjects to choose from, and he chose to study English the whole day. I told him to make believe he is in school and he should study 3 hours, including breaks just like in school. he started, and after about an hour he said : 'I think I am going to study well today. If I do, I would like to give myself a prize. will you be able to take me to the pet store when I am done ? " and guess what, he studied three hours (2hrs, then a break for an hour, then another hour) and we went to the store and he bought himself an eel for the big aquarium (with his own hard earned money from wahsing our car every now and then...) he was SOOOOOOOO hapy ! Maybe he has realized the best way to improve his behaviour and studying habits, by encouraging and rewarding himself!!! F p.s. the eel came after I said NO to the snake.....see, mom keeps the veto rights even if he has teh rewarding rights, he he he...........
