Guest guest
Ok, I don't get it. Once they HAVE crusted over (all of them) you are no longer contagious. Why should they expect any to be crusted over yet??? > Hi, > > I want to first thank all of you for your well wishes. In between my itching I have been trying to keep up with the posts. I went to the doctor today. They are not sure what I have. I have some flat red dots then some pustules, like chicken pox. What I don't have is the crusted over ones yet. They said that since I didn't have them, they didn't think it was chicken pox. They said that with all my symptoms they felt that it was something viral not an allergic
Guest guest
Didn't these spots just appear like yesterday or the day before? I think you need to give them just a little bit more time to crust over ... it would be just too much of a coincidence if it turned out to be something else ... I had no idea until I read your post that if someone received a live vaccine, they could be contagious! / 4makelas@... Guest guest
Exactly what I was thinking as well. Pox are easy to spot if you have seen them before. But since you got them from your child's vaccine chances are yours will be very mild. Then again define mild? My 2yr had the shot when she was 12mths and before the day was over she started breaking out in pox. MISSY SAHM to some special kids!!! Excuse Me While I Go Raise Tomorrow's Future. Guest guest
> I had no idea until I read your post that if someone received a live vaccine, they could be contagious! , It seems like I read back when the vaccine came out that people who had never had Ckn Pox or had immune system problems, or person vac'd or others had to be careful about open cuts.... - basically anyone who hadn't had Ckn Pox I guess too maybe - could " catch " it from the live virus... Don't know quite how it works, but apparently now proven true!!!!
Guest guest
Yes they sure can. They get exposed to it thru diaper changes of the child coughing, sneezing, drooling on you. Remember when polio vaccine was oral? They were using the live virus with that and they began to see an increase in polio cases in parents and caregivers. I remember when my oldest(14) was given the oral polio, he was in cloth diapers. The doctor told me to use disposable diapers for atleast a week after he received it. Guest guest
Chicken pox has an incubation period of 2-3 weeks between exposure and symptoms. If your daughter's vaccination happened outside of that time period before your rash showed up, then the rash is unlikely to be chicken pox (at least from that source). I hope you are feeling better. in Massachusetts
Guest guest
I'm as puzzled as you. Here we are day four, I'm covered everywhere. None of them have crusted over. I'm calling it creeping crud for lack of any definite dx. Barb <@...> wrote: Ok, I don't get it. Once they HAVE crusted over (all of them) you are no longer contagious. Guest guest
I bet you were exposed to someone else's child 7-14dys ago and you just happened to break out the day after the shot.
