Guest guest
Here in North Jersey we have about 6 inches so far. 's nursery school was cancelled today. They upgraded the storm warnings to blizzard warnings for tomorrow. 's asthma is bad but he loves going out in the snow. We do short bursts. It takes longer for him to get dressed then he gets to spend outside. LOL! How about you?
Guest guest
... here in South Jersey we got around 6 - 7 inches...sounds like it was much worse up north...even 20 miles from here they got double. Keep digging. ( ) How's the weather? Here in North Jersey we have about 6 inches so far. 's nursery school was cancelled today. They upgraded the storm warnings to blizzard warnings for tomorrow. Guest guest
Here in central Massachusetts, we only got a bit over a foot, which is less than was predicted. There was more snow east of here- some places got nearly 3 feet. Eli was out in the snow for about an hour. He shovelled a path to the playstructure and then cleared the playstructure. He would launch snow from the shovel high into the air and then try to hit the snow with the shovel on its way back down. The snow only landed on his head once :-) in Massachusetts > Here in North Jersey we have about 6 inches so far. 's nursery > school was cancelled today. We have pictures of Tess shoveling snow at when we lived in Arlington (Massachusetts) a billion years ago. We lived on a private road, so they never sent the plows over until they'd plowed all the public roads first. So guess to got to shovel out the road??? Plus it was on a hill, so the kids got to go sledding down it for a good while before we shoveled it. LOL Tess missed Massachusetts so much that she went back there for college! Guest guest
's gone outside with the ruler to check how deep the snow is. We got 6 or 8 inches of light fluffy stuff. This expert knows, 'cause I shovelled it all! tells me that there's only 4 cm (about 2 " ) of snow in the back yard. Guess it must have compressed itself! It sure didn't melt. Guess we were lucky, from what I've been reading ... / 4makelas@... Guest guest
I'm a little jealous....I would love to have a little snow to play in. When I lived in N. Calif as a kid we got a few feet a couple times a year and it was perfect. Now that I living in San Diego I find it really funny that the weather people get all excited over a " slight chance of rain " ! LOL! I kind of like " weather " but I'm not complaining Johanna <embroidery4@...> wrote: ... here in South Jersey we got around 6 - 7 inches...sounds like it was much worse up north...even 20 miles from here they got double. Guest guest
Johanna, I can tell that you've never had the pleasure of an aching back from shovelling feet of the white stuff. I grew up in a little town way north of here where the snowbanks were over my head and you had to keep a scarf over your nose so it didn't fall off from frostbite. Guest guest
LOL!, No I have not had that " pleasure " ...... I think I was just missing the town I grew up in that had such a great climate. Hot summers, great Falls, cold but tolerable Winters and beautiful Springs....if only dh would get transfered there. Ha! With that said....I'm enjoying being in San Diego. The people are very friendly and there is a lot to do with the family. It's actually a little chilly here right now....pleasant surprise. At first I thought I was moving to the " stepford climate " ! BTW, Come on down and we'll take ya to the beach! A long, gentle rain allows the water to soak into the ground. A hard, driving rain mostly runs off into the streams and rivers without soaking in very much. Guest guest
Rain during the day seems to make everything dull, grey miserable and everyone rushes - I like rain on a night however - the way wetness shines from the warm glow of streetlamps, the moon reflecting on black slick slate roofs :-) I like the heavy sudden downpours of storms that relieve the tension in the air and how the air is so much clearer after a storm. I like hearing rain pounding and the pitta patta of it. I love seeing rain streaked windows........ but the rain I am referring to is just constant gloom, drizzle, soak you to the bone, drench you to the soul. Mmmmmmmmm I'm rambling :-) > > > > > > Here in Georgia today it is 75 degrees, windy and partly > > > cloudy...Beautiful! > > > > > >
Guest guest
Rambling? No, I call that poetic prose, and very beautiful actually-- a nice way to make something positive and beautiful out of something negative, you full-of-human-spirit girl, you. > > > > > > > > Here in Georgia today it is 75 degrees, windy and partly > > > > cloudy...Beautiful! > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Well recently it is the continual type that will probably soak into the ground - also the type I'm not keen on, I would rather have a downpour :-) A couple of years ago I was at a swimming baths and they were kicking everyone out because of flooding due to heavy rain. I found it quite amusing - most people there could swim :-) > > > In a message dated 3/9/2006 3:33:10 P.M.
