Guest guest
Hello everyone. Today has been a very long day for me. First off had his appt. with the ENT this morning. He does have strep and dr wants him to stay out of the heat. afraid the infection will move up into his sinus area and with all his allergies in the sinus area dr is afraid it will become a very serious problem. But good news we have finally found a med that seems to help robert with out to many side affects, most importantly no drowsiness. This afternoon i had my appt. with my new GYN. He is very sweet and caring. Now the bad news. He is scheduling me for a Laparoscopy. It will be in the abdomen and the vagina. He feels that i have Endometriosis. He is hoping that its not to bad but wants to find out for sure.He feels that i have had it for about 4 yrs and it has gone untreated for that long and has just gotten worse over the years. He has put me on vicoprofen for pain and boy does that work good and he has put me on Xanax for my nerves and sleep disorder. He wants me to be prepared for the worst. Meaning possible Hysteratamy(sp). Now iam put into a phase of thinking. and i have been considering having the rings removed from my tubes and trying for a baby. I have been the one saying no not right now, we still have time. Well i don't have as much time as i thought if at all. The boys have been after me about trying to give them a little sister and jason would love to have a little girl too. Of course after having all boys i would love a girl too but i really don't mind having another boy. Any way i have a very short time to make up my mind on if i want to do this..I think i will discuss it with the dr about having the rings removed while he is in there looking around and if i do have Endometriosis and its not to bad to remove what he can and then we can just kind of play it by ear. if i get pregnant then i do as long as it wouldn't endanger a baby or myself. Being faced with the fact that at my age never being able to have another child is kind of shocking thing. I know i already have 5 boys and i must be nuts to want to have another one but i have always wanted a large family and since we can afford it and the whole family seems to want it then i may good ahead and do it. Actually is the one that came right out and said mom if you want another one you need to do it now and i told him it wasn't just my decision it was the whole families decision and he just looked at me and said do it mom. What a kid. only 13 and is so understanding and supportive. I am very lucky to have such wonderful kids. They are all scared that i maybe really sick but always loving and caring to their mom even though she has been so moody lately. lol. I have to admit iam worried too but i know it will all work out one way or another. sorry for rambling on but thanks for listening. shelly
Guest guest
, I'm sorry you're having problems. I hope the doc can get everything taken care of without too many problems. Another child, wow, I sure do admire you. You've got spunk. It's so sweet that the boys want a little sister. goes through stages when he tells me he wants a little sister, I sit him down and explain to him that mommy just can't take care of another little one with her arthritis. It's so sad, cause he says, but mommy I can help, I'll even change her diaper (yeah right), and I'll share my room with her, as long as we don't have to paint it pink (hehehe). Good luck! Guest guest
We are all experiencing colds and sore throats here as well. Goes along with returning to school. I am just hoping that my asthmatic son doesn't get all gunked up. (How's that for medical terminology?) I tried MTX twice. I am on it now, as a matter of fact. It didn't seem to work the first go round, but now it does seem to be working. I also take Prednisone, which, like others of you, I am trying to wean off of. Slow going to keep from flaring. I also have been taking Arava, which seems to be doing well. I take Vioxx on occasion - the occasions have increased since I went back to work. I spent one whole day moving reams of paper from under a desk to their respective shelves in the storeroom. I thought my hands would really be sore the next day, but they weren't. I took Vioxx before going to bed and I wonder if that worked phrophalactically or if the Arava is really that good! Anyway, it was nice not to wake up with stiff, aching hands and wrists. My shoulders and back are another story though. UGH! , your kids sound so sweet. It would be a true miracle to have a husband that actually WANTED kids! And so many. But think a minute about having a little girl! Yikes! Would she ever be spoiled! LOL And protected. All of those big brothers to hover over her. I had two boys and then a girl. I was not prepared for a girl at all. I had a boys name picked out, but no girls name. I had all of these nifty little boy clothes, boys toys, etc. I planned that they could all share a room for a long time. I thought it would be so cute. Well, my daughter is a tomboy! When she was 4 she decided that she was a boy, she wanted all of the pink stuff out of her room, wanted it painted black. She changed her name to Jake, and wore her brothers clothes. It was hilarious. I have this really cute picture of her and her little preschool friend, Jacquie. Jacquie was as feminine as they come. Bows and curls and shiney shoes and dresses. The two of them are sitting on a stone bench having an ice cream. Jacquie has her ribbons, her sundress, her sandals, her curls. My daughter is wearing black shorts, a tank top, a pair of hightop sneakers in red/blue/yellow and purple. What a pair! Now, that little girl is a preteen - almost 12. She occasionally wears dresses, but mostly pants and shorts. That is when she isn't kicking bu-- at soccer! Her room is decorated in sports stuff - mostly soccer. Then she will turn right around and pick up her violin. Have you ever seen a violin player wearing shin guards? Guest guest
Francesca, So sad to hear about your Mum......I lost my Mum 5 years ago. I know what you're going through. I'm sure everyone on the group would give you a big hug if we were able to. Feel free to email if you need someone to " talk " to....and no way is this off-topic....or if it is, I don't care. Guest guest
Thanks all. My mother is comfortable, not in any pain which is about all I could hope for. BTW, the hospice people are wonderful if any of you should find yourselves in this situation.... --- In egroups, " Bang " <lindsay@f...> wrote: > > Francesca, > > So sad to hear about your Mum......I lost my Mum 5 years ago. Guest guest
Great post for April Fools Day. Good one. ----- Original Message ----- From: Clong38@... low dose naltrexone Sent: Thursday, April 01, 2004 03:46 Subject: [low dose naltrexone] off topic > Hi all,Sorry this is off topic but I just got quite a few e-mails saying that this time the post office is going to start getting 5 cents for each e-mail sent. They figured the average person gets 10 e-mails a day so it would cost us 50 cents a day or $180 a year, My question if this happens is with the sometimes 3 digests I get a day with usually 25 messages apiece are we going to pay 5 cents for all 25 messages or just a flat 5 cents for the digest? Does the moderator know how this is going to work? ly I have been deleting the long drawn out messages but if we have to pay $1.25 for each digest we get (X 3 a day) I don't think a lot of us will be able to stay here.Hope everyone is doing well, Long
Guest guest
In case you were serious about your inquiry: http://www.snopes.com/business/taxes/bill602p.asp The "5¢ e-mail surcharge" hoax presents us with a new economic villain in place of the FCC and phone companies: the United States Postal Service. Beset by falling revenues now that people are sending more and more e-mail (and consequently less and less real mail), the USPS is supposedly going to impose a 5¢ surcharge on every e-mail message to recoup the lost postage fees. The Postal Service is one of those essential government services that's so easy to bash and ridicule. We pay little or no attention to them when they do their jobs; the only time we notice them is when they do something wrong, and then we grumble and gripe about how bumbling and inefficient they are. "They can't manage the simple task of delivering mail reliably and on time, and now they want to raise the postage fees again?" is the standard cry. So, it doesn't require much stretching of public opinion to portray the USPS as yet another self-serving government agency more concerned with preserving its existence than with serving its constituency. If the Postal Service can't get more money out of people for using its services, it's going to start charging people for not using its services. Everybody's gonna pay the USPS 5¢ per e-mail message for a service the USPS isn't providing. The whole thing is bunk.
