Gee, I kept reading because I thought it had something to do with the kids!

I am just too excited to sleep, and I am going to miss the antics and anecdotes

of the awesome Aspergers Treatment borg Moms.

Good luck with that washer and dryer!

on my washer for months. For a while, it would stop without spinning out.

Well, if you lifted the lid and then dropped it, it would commence working

and finish the cycle. Great job for autistic kid -- run downstairs, lift the

lid on the washer and then let it drop -- SLAM! Then, it decided that the

agitator should agitate while the washer is filling ... ducky. Well, after a

bit it did stop that. Then it started the

" I-won't-spin-unless-you-stand-there-and-push-on-the-knob " routine. Well,

you can imagine how that went over during the past month. I also wasn't

impressed when it started the

" I'll-fill-for-you-and-then-drain-right-away-without-washing-the-clothes "

sequence. And then it decided to do all these things in the same cycle. And

THEN, it decided that it would only work in the delicate cycle! Now, this

was the last straw, because delicates spin lightly and towels washed in the

delicate cycle are no way going to come out ready to put in the dryer. Oh,

and did I mention that for the last month also I had to wash in one cycle

and spin in a different one???

>

> Now we get to the interesting part, because I haven't had a dryer for the

past year. Just hang everything up in the basement on hangers or racks with

fan blowing on them. It's AMAZING how much Hydro I have saved! BUT, face it,

this was getting ridiculous. Anyway, I never bought a dryer because I knew

the washer was going (it's had assorted other troubles over the past couple

of years and several hubby-repairs -- won't touch on that --). So my plan

was to buy a washer and dryer at the same time.

>

> Which I finally did, on Thursday, paid CASH. They had ordered in the dryer

that I wanted, because they didn't stock it locally. It has low-med-high

temperature settings (you'd think all dryers would come with that ...).

Anyway, I had actually ordered the set a few weeks ago but was waiting for

$$$ to pay for it. So I called on Monday to say that Thursday I'd be paying

and I wanted it delivered. Well, they couldn't accommodate on Thursday night

so I agreed to wait until Saturday (only possible delivery times for this

area). My hubby ended up not pleased because the washer and dryer are not an

exact matching pair. Big deal. They have the features I want, and I am

nothing if not practical ... he had to put a metal exhaust on the dryer

which apparently can get very hot. It's wider than the washer. They're both

super capacity. It's also got a blue " instrument panel " while the washer's

is white.

>

> Well, Saturday they arrived. Took the old washer out and put it at the

curb (story here, because it had disappeared an hour later). Anyway, they

took the dryer downstairs. And then they took the new washer out of the box

and discovered that it was DAMAGED. Well ........ the delivery guy called

the furniture store, and the manager said there were no more the same there.

Not that it would have helped because the delivery guy didn't have time that

day to go and get another washer. SO, after a whole lot of discussion --

during which the manager didn't seem to understand that I work and a special

delivery during the daytime on Tuesday just would NOT do, and also the fact

that I was DESPERATE for a washer by this time -- anyway they agreed to let

me have the floor model BUT my hubby had to go and pick it up, which he did,

and we get 3% of the cost of the washer for our trouble. Gee, if I'd known

we'd have to go and pick it up, we could have picked up the dryer, too, and

saved 3% on that too! Anyway, I ended up having to help get that darn thing

down in the basement because a friend wasn't available just at that moment

.... another story.

>

> Anyhow, I did so much laundry yesterday that the dryer couldn't keep up

and I still had laundry hanging in the basement!! Now, why did I have so

much laundry? Well, last weekend I had had it with the old washer and went

to the laundromat, but I didn't take everything. Then during the March

break, the kids went to Grandma's and dirtied a bunch of stuff. Meanwhile my

hubby and I of course did change our clothes .... by Saturday morning the

laundry was piled high. I usually do a couple of loads a day ...

>

> So here I am with a brand new washer and dryer. My daughter is happy

because her flannelette pj's were soft last night and she can have a fresh

pair each night again. She's also delighted to think that the turnaround

time on having something washed won't be washing time when I have a full

load plus at least a day to get it dry ... couldn't care less, except

that he had an awful lot of towels to fold today (he is very good at this).

LOL! Just nothing good on TV tonight and catching up on posts while

I watch the 10:00 news. Your story was more interesting than the

news! Good luck with the washer and dryer! May you have many happy

spin cycles together. ;)

The answer is d), I needed a good laugh. I remember laughing at your

screwy neighbor story a few months ago, so yes I read the whole washing

machine story, and now I longer feel bad that my avacado dryer bought

used as newlyweds17 years ago, only works on the delicate cyle and

doesn't match my white 5 year old washer that is starting to show signs

of cr******* out. Hope you have better luck this cycle -- Theresa

There is a lovely Christian doc in Mexico who does this surgery very

regularly(this can increase success rate) for American women, and he does it for

about 1/4 the cost of an American surgeon. It is about the only way we could

afford to do this, because health insurance will gladly pay to break it, (which

they call being " fixed " ) but they don't pay to fix it... I'll never get that. I

guess because the ligation makes them not have to pay for potential pregnancy! I

have checked him out thoroughly, and I feel completely safe about this.

Love

Tammy

P.S. I already bought bottled water to take along... LMAO

Thanks so much for the chuckle! I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one out

there with washer and dryer woes! However your washer sounded like it had a

mind of its own, never a dull moment? Enjoy your new set! Barbara

Some of you may be aware that I have been having problems with the timer on my

Hi Theresa. I am just catching up on the week's mail. Now that I'm back to

work, don't have as much time ...

What's wrong with your white 5 year old washer? Should last at least 10-15

years (funny, my old one, I bought used, and got 10 years out of it ...)
