Guest guest
A while back I posted a question about Berard vs/ Tomatis auditory training programs. People had wanted an update so here goes. We decided not to jump right into the Berard method that was going to be offered locally during spring break. I did a little research and just wasn't sure that it was the right program for him. Our nutritionist (who thinks Tomatis would be best for him) had given me the name of the Center in NW New Jersey to check out. This is a place where they do a variety of audiology/listening programs (Berard, Tomatis, and a bunch of other ones that I never even knew existed.) I spoke with a woman there and they seemed very knowledgeble. Has anyone had any experience with them? We decide that it would make more sense to get an eval and try to determine where (or even if) Sammy's auditory problems are before trying anything. These programs aren't cheap so I'd prefer to se eif he really might benefit from one before I do it. They really seemed to have their act together at this place; wanting to test him for frequencies that a typical audiologist wouldn't test for; trying to determine how he processes information, etc. Just wondering if anyone has gone there. If anyone is interested, I will post what we find out. We go on the 19th and will actually leave with our report right in our hands!! mom to Sammy, ASD, 4+ years.
