Yuck. Good to watch for. I just found a TwinLab zinc gelatin cap

that contains both chelated gluconate and zinc picolinate. It's the

right mgs (30), and would be much easier to administer as I could

prick it into his BrainChild's. What do you think of that?

We also had problems with Zinc picoliniate - my kids couldn't go to

sleep even on low doses. Here is an explanation of the problem from

our Body Bio Lab tests ( Kane's company)

" Picolinate endings on minerals (such as zinc picolinate) are

inappropriate at this time due to the effect of picolinates upon

raising uric acid or BUN and disturbance of urea cycle. "

We are now doing liquid minerals ( E-Lyte for awhile, currently

Brainchild). I also have a small bottle of liquid zinc sulphate.

Best,

Thanks Miti. That explanation is very helpful. I think I'll do a

bit more research into options and try again later.

We've tried the liquid zinc from Kirkman Labs and the zinc from Perque. Both

inflamed my son's cheeks, a sure indicator something is wrong, as well as

put him in an emotional funk. We're thinking about the Optizinc or the

Wateroz, but his labs indicate his zinc levels are adequate. Haven't had the

opportunity to do more research as a virus zapped our home for most of

January. Luckily my son got the least of it. However, he is reacting to

foods whenever he misses his enzymes, we use to be able to miss the enzymes

occasionally. Not so now. I'm wondering what the zinc, Vit. C and Nizoral

have done to my son. We officially start the Ojibwa tea back again tonight.

Of course we also know my son reacts to our carpet cleaning solution, we

just can't afford to yank out the carpet yet.

My kids do okay with picolinate, but others don't.

Drop the dose back. Be sure to give zinc with food.

Can be either.
