Guest guest
My son's Clostridia was very, very high. We got it back down to normal in about three months using 4 capsules of Kirkman's ProCulture Gold daily. Debbie

Guest guest
My daughter's stool is being tested for clostridia difficile due to a high HPHPA level in her urine. I have read that Flagyl and/or Vancoymicin with an anti-fungal (usually diflucan) is the regular course of treatment. Does anyone have any experience with treating C.diff? Everything I have read states this usually reoccurs when treatment ends. I get the result on Tuesday. We stopped the Culturelle prior to her giving a stool sample and started it back up today. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you, Jen

Guest guest
Hi-- I left a response to another group, so maybe you'll get that, too. I had c. difficile several years ago and it was *horrible*. I followed the standard regimen for getting rid of it (and I think it was Flagyl, now that I read the options) and it was gone pretty quickly. I have had antibiotics since, but I have never had a recurrence of c. difficile. I hope that is somewhat encouraging Allyson My daughter's stool is being tested for clostridia difficile due to a
high HPHPA level in her urine. Guest guest
What helped my daughter was 5-6 of the 20 Billion CFUs Culturelles per day for at least a few months. We also gave 2-3 ProBioGold. The total probiotic load was at least 140 Billion Colony Forming Units per day. We still give almost that much just because we never want to see her get that bad again. We could probably go to 4 Culturelles and 1 or 2 or something else now after 8 months of intense therapy. We did use a run of Vancomycin about 1 year ago, but I think that was pretty hard on her and when she had a bit of penicillin for Strep her Clostridia seemed to just bloom out of nowhere. My advice is to hit hard and then give probiotics in LARGE doses for a long time. It is a marathon not a sprint. The Clostridia go into a quiet stage but they are still there! in Salt Lake City
Guest guest
Flagyl cleared it up for our son. BUt I have no idea if it was Toxin A or B. That's all I can offer--oh--and he stopped head banging after we cleared it up. Immediately. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of The Silvert Family Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 7:12 PM autism-Mercury ; miralax ; bioMedHeads Subject: [ ] Clostridia Difficile B " H What can anybody tell me about treating this nasty? My 14 yo dd (severe autism) has had GI issues for years...finally the 3rd pediatric GI Dr. we are about to see (Krigsman) tests for this in advance of even seeing her. Clostridia Difficile Toxin A is positive...our local lab screws up and doesn't bother to test for Toxin B as Krigsman had requested. So the local MD wants to go ahead and treat & we do a 10 day course of the generic for Flagyl, 250 mg. tid. A week later, we re-test for the same, toxins A & B. Again, she is positive for Toxin A, but this time they can't locate the result for toxin B !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What to do??? She's not officially Dr. Krigsman's patient yet, and we don't think further treatment should just wait......suggestions, please???? Thank you in advance Debra
