Guest guest
Hi M I get my Oil of Oregano here http://www.endowplus.com/oregano/oregano2.html If you get the pure oil, make sure that you cut it with extra virgin cold pressed olive oil. I cut mine 5 drops of olive oil to 1 drop of oregano oil. Oil of Oregano by itself probably won't be the solution if you have candida. It would be a good idea to be tested to see if you have it or t=not. I'm assuming by your name that you're from NYC. There is a Naturopathic College in Bridgeport Connecticut. They charge $20 per visit, and less for supplements than you would normally pay. You can look them up on the web. University of Bridgeport on Google. Then look for the clinic. Good luck Rick > Hi all, I'm recently diagonised with acid reflux/hiatus hernia > (gerd). I have been suffering from this for about last 15 yrs > (I'm 30 yrs old). Guest guest
Hey, I am 32!! I have gerd especially after antibiotics. Oregano is a great product but the one drawback that I have read and heard from docs is that it kills not only bad bacteria, but good as well. So, it's recommended to only use it for a short time as you don't want to kill the good flora in your gut. Good luck and let me know how you are! Guest guest
Hi all, I'm on the list because I have a child with autism and chronic on and off candida/dysbiosis. I'm responding to the point about Oil of Oregano killing off good bacteria. I've heard this same thing about Grapefruit Seed Extract, which is often used for the same purposes (antifungal/antibacterial). One doctor says that if you give the Grapefruit Seed Extract a couple hours away from probiotics (i.e. acidophilus, etc), the probiotics can still help build good bacteria and the GSE won't kill off as much. Anyone know if this is true? Could that same technique be useful also with oil of Oregano? Terri mom to Zane, 10yo high functioning autistic At 08:23 PM 8/5/2003 -0700, you wrote: >Hey, > >I am 32!! Guest guest
Hi Terri, I can't answer your question about oregano, but, have you ever heard of Dr. Kane? She deals with autistic children, adults etc. and I have seen some magic that she has done. She is a nutritionist who is affiliated with 's Hopkins but now works in Pa. She deals with yeast as well. Guest guest
Yes, I have heard of her. She's a specialist in fatty acids, I believe. Her approach is somewhat controversial in autism circles, but there is no doubt that she knows a lot and helps some kids. Thanks for thinking of me and mentioning her. We actually have my son's candida pretty well under control at the present time and seem to be keeping it at bay ok. Like many families fighting autism, we're detoxing for mercury and other metals and this seems to stir it up again sometimes. A year ago we were fighting large amounts of candida, citrobacter and clostridia doing prescription meds and his health really took a dive. These days, we alternate different natural ones, and that works well for us. While I have the 'floor', lol, I wanted to mention to the list a website I found helpful when developing my approach to yeast-fighting for my son: www.modernherbalist.com. It's run by an acupuncurist who specializes in chronic candida and I found his site and his products helpful. He does free phone consults Tues and Thurs mornings, btw. I have no affiliation with him or his site. Terri At 09:01 PM 8/5/2003 -0700, you wrote: >Hi Terri, > >I can't answer your question about oregano, but, have you ever heard of >Dr. Kane? Guest guest
Date: Tue, 5 Aug 2003 23:54:28 EDT From: mogdrmom@... i used Oil of Oragano for pain after neck surgery & it worked wonderfull Mog I have a foot that I injured many years ago and it chronically aches badly enough at bedtime that I have to take aspirin every night to be able to get to sleep. There have been nights when I've taken far more analgesics than I should just in desperation to get the aching to stop enough for me to sleep. I have hated taking that much aspirin but didn't know what else to do. Well, just about a month ago I heard about rubbing oregano oil on aching joints so I tried it. It is like MAGIC!! I rub it on my foot just before bed and I haven't had to take any aspirin at all since I started doing it. Sherry
Guest guest
Anybody got a good way to tell the difference between a phenol reaction and die-off? n is quite phenol-sensitive, even with No-Fenol he can't tolerate a lot of stuff.I'm giving just one drop 2X a day with NF. He's having bursts of rage, which could go either way. Poop is slightly constipated with kind of a sloughy exterior, as though it had been wrapped in tissue paper. Thanks for your experiences... Sorry to be stupid about it, but how would I interpret the tabasco? No tissue paper today -- I think you're right, it does look like a film of mucus. As for scd, sheesh, I don't know. He's been 100% except for enzymes for over 2 months. I didn't do any yeast/bacteria treatments thinking the diet would slowly do its work...but definitely just had a big yeast flare, and I assume bacteria is involved too. His diet is pretty restricted now -- meat, pears, mango, pb, nut pancakes along with whatever vegetables I can sneak in there. Some goat yogurt, sometimes a little cheese. It's much easier to see reactions now, which is helpful. I had higher hopes for the diet, but I'm sticking with it. Would you expect scd to be more successful with yeast? Or mostly with bacteria? Guest guest
> That would be die off for us. > > P Thanks, . Do you handle it like GSE, give it until he stops reacting to it, up to a week or so? Nell
Guest guest
Nell, if n is both a little constipated and having bursts of rage, he could simple be a little dehydrated. If you can get him to drink more it might solve both problems. As a side note, my experience has been that drinking more fluids decreases sensitivity in general, including allergies. Maybe that would help with his phenol sensitivity. Janice From: " lanellici " <lanellici@...> Subject: oil of oregano question n is .... having bursts of rage, which could go either way.
