Guest guest
, My name is Sally, I have a son named who is almost 7. has been using enzymes since shortly after they were released. We recently got hooked up with a promonint doctor, September 2003. We have done a bunch of tests on and among other things he has inflammation in his intestines and high titers. The comprehensive stool analysis we had done at Doctor's Data indicated above normal in his Lysozyme, he scored 2881 when the reference range is 0 - 600 mg/ml. Also, the intestinal health markers showed " positive " in Occult Blood. They are wanting us to do the SAGE 150 food panel test next along with doing occult stool tests every 2 weeks. THey have indicated that once we have done the SAGE tests they will probably want us to take off of dairy completely. My question is this, " If has a leaky gut, by taking him off of dairy will that really resolve the inflammation problem or is the inflammation due to the fact that he has a leaky gut? His candida was 1+. We are currently treating for yeast, detoxification, liver and pancreatic dysfunction and a shortage of his own ability to produce all the amino acids his body requires. We use enzymes with every meal and snacks and have seemed to have great success with them. We never notice any peptide effect. is very high functioning, he is mainstreamed 1st grade and is doing quite well. He has come a long way from when we started at 3! As a side note, does not have sensory issues. His biggest issues seems to be detoxification, particularly molds, those set him off. Yeast has also been an up and down issue. We tried the No-phenol but he seemed to do better without it. By restricting or removing things from his diet, our fear is that he will just develop allergies to other things. If it is a true allergen, say dairy in this instance, will the enzymes help or must it be removed to allow the gut to heal completely and then reintroduced? I hate to go through all the trouble and heartache to remove something, and the changes in lifestyle, if it really doesn't serve any purpose. I asked our doctor about giving enzymes between meals for inflammation and he said not at this time. He seems to be more supportive of diet than using enzymes. Your book seems to indicate that the enzymes can help the healing process in this regard and that the diet could just lead to a vicious never-ending circle of diet, new allergy, elimination and new allergies. We did the diet for about a year and a half before we went to the enzymes but seemed to get our best results with the enzymes. He is happier, more alert, more conversational, and can concentrate so much better. We firmly believe we can right 's immune system and achieve total recovery but are interested in finding the path that will get us there without totally disrupting everyone's lives without putting 's health at any greater risk than what he has been under. Would appreciate your thoughts or other sources to check out in this regard. I want to thank you for writing your book, it has been a great resource for me in both understanding what is going on and maintaining my sanity! Sincerely, Sally
