Guest guest
-- Are you using any types of biological interventions currently? Is she in school or at home? If she cannot communicate, you may want to look into the Son-Rise program. We went there and got a lot of benefit from it, but it is expensive. www.son-rise.org If you want to hear about it e-mail me privately- cynditk@... - In , " zoelle1995 " <rashikino@n...> wrote: > Hi no she is also deaf and we have alot of delays in expressive > communication...she can tell us a few of her needs with sign but that > is it..I am pretty sure she has ocd but no one has really diagnosis > it..and Im not sure who could..What do you think I should do? Guest guest
hmmmm I am not sure hun, I would recommend that you have your daughter undergo neurological testing, however, with the deaf diagnosis, I am sure it must be very frustrating for her to try and convey her needs to you...I know you are trying signs, but have you ever heard of PECS? My son is autistic and so is my daughter, he was very delayed in communicating his needs and a very frustrated little boy...so we had him diagnosed and then followed up with PECS... PECS stands for Picture Exchange Communication System...It works well and helps to convey needs and wants...but in order to learn to use it, a speech pathologist has to show you how it works. Remember behaviour usually means something...and generally it's an indication of feelings and so on...I know it's frustrating and frazzling, but I think PECS would work well for you in this case. Write back soon, Destinys Rhythm ps you can add me to your is you want it's destinysrhythm@... zoelle1995 <rashikino@...> wrote: Hi no she is also deaf and we have alot of delays in expressive communication...she can tell us a few of her needs with sign but that is it..I am pretty sure she has ocd but no one has really diagnosis it..and Im not sure who could..What do you think I should do? I have a cousin that had OCD and I just wonder is maybe some type of medication could help her or since she has autism it could make her worse or maybe there was a non-prescription med that someone has found successful..Im just grasping at straws here... Guest guest
Well, my daughter has extreme emotional highs and lows, as well as OCD behaviour and is prone to anxiety disorder...until...Our pediatrician put her on Risperidol, *my son is on it as well to decrease autistic symptoms*....we've had amazing success with it!!! Kailey is no longer nearly as up and down as she used to be and Austin's speech came up quite a bit with it, he's still stimming alot, but now we can break his stim and keep him focused with some inventive methods such as toys, Pikachu, Pokemon lol....but honestly, it's been a good drug...the only side effect I had concerns about was the weight gain it can cause, but my kids have only gained about 10 lbs and that was since February, which they were underweight before, so it's okay, I do monitor their eating habits though. Kailey has probably the more noticeable gain since she's younger. I guess that would be the only other suggestion, although at your daughter's age, they may look into antidepressents to lesson the agression, but i would try Risperidol first, it's well known for treating Autism as well as mood ups and downs...I know Kailey's OCD behaviours are less and she is easier to deal with now. Guest guest
its a fluorinated drug and necessarily things will fall apart. 'breaking a stim' does not give a good vibe. as you approach improved nutrition to the brain and gut so these problems will lessen. > > > Please help us, Machaela 8 years old seems have OCD, she has been > > > doing things that are very dangerous, sometimes she get obsessed > > with > > > water and will keep turning on the faucets, water everywhere, > well > > > the last few days have gotten bad, now she is obsessed with the > > > microwave, she keep opening and closing and today my husband > found > > > her hanging on it..well now the microwave is broke, she also has > > this > > > thing with shoes she holds them by the shoelace and moves them > back > > > and forth and they band on things, last night I found her up on > the > > > cabinet banging them on pipes. Guest guest
Fluronated? hmmmm I never heard of that, I will check it out though...what do you mean necessarily things will fall apart? I am unsure as to what that means....as for breaking a stim, I just mean that instead of letting him run back and forth for 6 hours straight, we are able to get him to interact with us, basically get him out of stimming for a bit so he's a little more focused on the world around him and us, he is quite interactive, but when he needs his stim time, I know...I am not trying to come across as rude or anything, but I am still new to the natural approach of things and am still waiting for my enzymes....thank you for the information, please respond when you have a chance. Guest guest
Oh, I just checked it out and you are right, risperidol contains fluro and lactose...which may be bad for my daughter, although, they are both on the liquid form of it, which has a lot less inactive ingredients....geezzz ty for pointing this out to me..i wouldn't have known otherwise. Thanks, Janet janet h <destinysrhythm@...> wrote: Fluronated? hmmmm I never heard of that, I will check it out though...what do you mean necessarily things will fall apart? Guest guest
risperdal is known for causing tardive dyskinesia fluorinated means it has fluorine atoms in which makes it toxic to the brain. i'm not against drugs per se, it just a question of what gives sustainable results long term. it is a lot of work to to have to get an unwilling child to interact which is really why the emphasis needs to be getting on some of the various problems solved like metals tranpsort, digestive health, basic nutritonal things like i am finding that homogenised milk appears to have damaged cis vitamin a and unhomogenised milk does not and that is a hugely important vitamin....... i think the approach is lthinking less in term so trying to change behavior and more in solving basic issues like digestion, metals transport and nutritional shortfalls.
