Guest guest
Dear CRonies, Re: Mambo's and others comments about food toxicity... I keep thinking of the Joe song " Everything Gives You Cancer. " If you look at life under a microscope, the body is indeed assaulted by poisons all day--that's life. Even good things like sunshine will hurt you if not approached with reverence. OTOH I must say that the negative news about soy caused my husband and I to rethink our decision to feed our 3- and 4-year-old kids soy milk instead of cow's milk. Now we're going to alternate between the 2 and monitor the research. As far as adult food intake goes, I favor a simple approach. Eat less, not more. Eat smart, not emotionally. Emphasize variety! If you eat the same thing every day, e.g., tofu at every meal, then you probably *should* be worried about food toxicity. When I fail to follow these simple guidelines (usually because I'm off balance from stress) it helps me to go back to the source and read Walford (or other material) to remind me of why I chose this path to begin with. And every day presents a new opportunity to work on it. Here's wishing you all a healthy, happy New Year! Dixie
