Guest guest
Dear , As my daughter is almost 15 and weighs 100lbs I just halved a 500 mg capsule of glycine and gave it to her for about a week, then upped it to the whole thing after that. We noticed a lowering of her temper tantrums and emotional flare ups shortly after that. If you want to play it safely, mix 1/4th of a capsule in applesause and give it to your child on an empty stomach for several days and increase it thereafter. From what I've read from other parents' postings I think you need at least 500 mgs to get the calming effect. Some give it in the evening to help with sleep. I've never seen it help my daughter get to sleep any better. ole/glycine > hi, > How much ole should be used..I have the capsules is this ok...?? > Also how much glycine should a child of 63 pds start out with and > how long before I would notice a difference if it would help.. > Thanks you for all your support and kind words.. > > > > > >
Guest guest
Since our chat about glycine I began taking it so far only two days. I read very good information on the board as well as my search. I took it at night and found it stimulating that I couldn't sleep. But I was awake with a well being. So for me I will take it in the day time. I read that person with MS takes this to feel more alert and energetic. Well, I don't know if I have MS but it has made me feel alert and energetic and my personality is flowing through some. Another thing this amino acid has done was help my bowels to move freely. I have a better feeling in my gut. Maybe this is the reason my personality doesn't feel suppressed. I do hope these benefits continue. I had experienced in the past of supplements to stop working on me after 2 months time. Liz D. Guest guest
the glycine in two kal magnesiun glycinate tablets(200 mg mag) taken in the morning was enough to disrupt sleep for me. an explanation i have seen is it upsets the amino acid balance is the liver and also tends to prevent tryrtophan crossing the bbb by crowding it out i guess. i am taking the cardiovascular research magnesium taurate(conjugated to taurine) and that seems to be better for sleep. > Since our chat about glycine I began taking it so far only two days.
