What is MSM?

My son also has some OCD behaviors. My DAN doc thought he may have

PANDAS too. I tried inositol, but it did not help. Can you tell what

things changed with MSM? ANd what dose?

Hi Laurie, MSM is methyl sulfonyl methane, a supp that's sold almost everywhere

for joint health/arthritis. It provides sulfur.

I had started giving my child mag over the summer, and then recently when she

had started another abrupt OCD worsening I gave MSM in addition. I did this

because my child responds well to Epsom salt baths (mag and sulfur) so I had an

idea this combo was good for her.

I don't know the best dose, I gave 250 mg of MSM (according to label this

provides 83 mg of organic sulfur) two times a day and watched how she did. I

just had this on hand, it was bought for another family member. She was

noticeably better by that evening, after three days or so she was back where she

had been before the exacerbation. By better I mean much fewer Os and Cs, less

hyper, anxiety, tics, and irritability.
