Tina - Could your son maybe have a bowel impaction? I say that because you

said he typically has a BM every 2-3 days. That would swell his belly and

cause poor behaviors. My son is prone to constipation, and for us the

enzymes can aggravate it so we really have to make sure he has a BM every

day. My son's belly looks very bloated when he's constipated. The enzymes

do help us in other ways, but the constipation can mask visible

improvements.

Can your son swallow pills? For us, when we have a suspected bowel

impaction, I use the " Senakot-s " tablets that contain senna bowel stimulant

and docusate sodium stool softener. Walgreens has their own brand of this

called " Senna-s " . I'm sure its not the most natural product for my son, but

impactions are scary business to me. We already use the other aids like mag

citrate, vitamin C, fiber, biotin, etc, etc. But if your son is like mine,

the constipation can be very persistent. During regular times, if he skips

a day without having a BM, I give him a senna-only tablet, without the stool

softener.

Devin & others -need help again please

Hello all. Last week or so I posted about giving up on enzymes

because we tried every combination of them, then going without them

and seeing no changes at all. It was recommended that we give 1 last

ditch effort and really load up with enzymes, maybe 1 per meal was

not enough. Well that is exactly what we are going to do tomorrow,

over the weekend. My problem is, my son has gained 25 lbs in 1 year.

That is a lot for an 8 yr old. His belly looks like a balloon ready

to pop, he poops every other to every 3rd day, and his behaviors...

well that is too depressing to discuss. His whole torso, chest, back,

buttocks are covered in cellulite. I posted a question on the A-M

board about the worsening of cellulite being stirred up toxins due to

chelation. But in truth, my son had a pot belly and cellulite long

before we started chelation, supplements, etc. Over the Christmas

Holiday he gained 7 pounds. That is wrong. I am not chalking this up

to a growth spurt because it's just his middle that is growing, he

looks 9 month pregnant. My question is could enzymes contribute to

cellulite or pot belly? I don't think so, but I need someone else to

tell me. I hope Devin answers this as well as others. I will be

looking into testing for celiac disease. Thanks in advance. Tina B.

r u sprinkling the enzymes on food? they are most efficnet that way

he sounds like he will need some scd emphasis as well.

chelation will have depelete zinc and other essential minerals

despite andy cutler saying that doesn't happen.

the twinlab maxilife rice tocopherols, maybe a drop or two from a

capsule should help with constipation.

he is so typical for scd and have you looked at it?

it is really unfortunate that andy cutler bans contrary points of

view from a-m that parents come across here with more than a few

shortfalls to get up to speed with.

I would heavily dose probiotics, Perfect stool formula to get things moving

and Culturelle work really well for my son. Bloated belly is long gone. But

then again we rotate the OLE, OoO and GSE too. For myself, not only do I use

the above two probiotics daily, but I used a product called Fungal Defense,

boy it cleared me out, headaches and stomach pains too intense for a

munchkin to tolerate ( I always try stuff out on myself before giving to

ph). Maybe some unbuffered Vit. C, small 1/8 tsp. and work your way up

to clear out his bowels? Is diabetes a possibility? I don't care what any

Pediatrician or Gastroenterologist tells me, If my son eats every day, then

he darn well better poop every day. Now, having said that, it needs to be

quality poop. When my son wasn't absorbing the nutrients from his food, he

was literally pooping back out what he ate, now his poop has the right

substance to it. Terribly gross isn't it?
