Guest guest
i think the first thing is it could be a straight dangerously intense visual situation with the projector as teachers seem to have no clues and hey its not them. the second is that low vitamin a in the retina makes for more susceptibilty to damage. thirdly the strobing/flicker of flourescent lights can be a problem with some kids. fourthly the nature of developmental disability is moderation not the complete elimination of issues. > I was wondering if anyone has any input on what my daughter's problem might be here. She is 7 and sits in front of the class. She says that the overhead projecter hurts her eyes, and maybe even the florescent lights. These last few weeks we had dramatically altered her diet. I had suspected that dairy was the root to this, as I beleive it was causing her intense headaches. But with the diet modification she is still having this problems. Somehow I'm just thinking everything is realated to her yeast overgrowth/leaky gut problem. > Thanks, > Kari > >
Guest guest
i think its more carotenes and proably luteins and such like. i know carrots always helped me but don't seem to need them so much now and have a varied diet including yellow peppers. sunglasses are a great way of conserving vitmain a, but some unfiltered sunlight is needed in the morning to set the body clock. > Harry stresses out severely with bright lights especially the sun in the car. He says " mum can you do something about that sun? " Well sorry I can't! I just got him new glasses that go dark in the sun. They are great. Have tried Vit A (only low dose) and it hasn't helped. > Prue > > >
Guest guest
/others, I'm back to this issue again as I do think it's more than just the projector and bright lights in general. Pru your idea about dark glasses is a good one for outdoors I don't currently do. I am having a hair test done with her, do you guys know if this will register vitamin A? Thinking not, just thought I'd ask. But what might be a recommended brand/source to give her to try supplementing? And speaking of supplementing with vitamin A, I've skimmed a lot about how high doses can help with measles overgrowth in the gut. Was wondering how you would know you have that, symptoms or test? Thanks, Kari Re: cent Lights/Overhead Projector the second is that low vitamin a in the retina makes for more susceptibilty to damage. thirdly the strobing/flicker of flourescent lights can be a problem with some kids. fourthly the nature of developmental disability is moderation not the complete elimination of issues. Guest guest
-Hi Kari, I just thought I'd throw in a perspective on this subject. I personaly have always had a real problem with any sort of bright flickering/reflected light, Sun shining on metal (cover up steel sink with tea towl) Disco white lights(only went once in youth was so bad+plus noise of course)Flickering fluros drive me crazy, and could not stay in classroom if projector was used. All of the above give me a VERY bad perculier feeling that something would happen if I didn't avert my eyes. I have 2 reletives that used to get occational epileptic fits when young and sometimes wonder if there is a connection there, My children don't have a problem with any of the above. I realize I'm being vague and unhelpful here but it affects me so much and feels SO horrible I thought I'd throw it in for consideration. Not trying to sound alarmist or send you down a wrong road, Just wanted to explain what it can feel like to some. ) Eileen. -- In , " Kari Trautman " <karitrautman@e...> wrote: > /others, > I'm back to this issue again as I do think it's more than just the projector and bright lights in general > Thanks, > Kari > Re: cent Lights/Overhead Projector > > > > thirdly the strobing/flicker of flourescent lights can be a problem > with some kids. > > >
