i don't like the way scd is done aka 'purity'

its not original but a development of the 1862 banting diet from

which sprang both gfcf and scd/low carbohydrate diets. previous to

that it had been around as an athelete's, boxers and wrestlers diet.

what elaine gottschall has done is provide a scientific basis for the

banting diet and it is really the only rational explantion around.

however the pecan bread board is still in the enzymeless,

supplementless deep frying fifties.............

pecanbread/..........there is an

issue with illegal fillers in supplements but you can work through

what is significant and what isn't, like imo the houstonin enzymes

with rice bran are quite ok.

the scd arguement is that it is toxic metabolites from an out of

balance bacterial/yeast/viral biofilm that creates a leaky gut and

when you stop feeding this out of balance biofilm amd allow it to

come bacjk in balance then the gut will heal and other things follow

like the body being able to excrete heavy metals and allergens not

getting across the gut aka gfcf.

scd emphasis releases metabolic burden improving metabolic gain in a

very substantial way as evidenced by the exceptional degree of mental

vigour in both banting and elaine gottschall(85% scd by her own

admission) at an advanced age.

bascially i do scd +dairy(not homgenised milk and + whey powder which

has a lot of lactose in but builds upper body muscle - pics avaliable

on request ;o) +supplements.

+supplements is a range of minerals including zinc methionine and

magenesium.............

you need zinc for scd to balance the phytates in the fruit...........

you need chromium gtf to help the blood suagr

vitmain e(twinlab's maxilife rice tocotrienols), you just prick the

end of the capsule with apin and squeeze a one or two drops into the

mouth as a full capsule is to much)............. this helps keep the

gut membranes flexible so that any scar tissue doesn't act as as

stricture cuasing constipation. efas are important here as

well..........

so keep with supplements and enzymes and exclude potaotes corn grains

soy. i don't hold with nut flours............

i tend to pressure cook veges(lowest hpressure setting, tefal

cooker), pressure cooked radishes are very nice.

theres a lot of stuff on the web about scd, but 'make it your

own'..........................rules without understanding lead to

failure.
