Guest guest
Hi All. I went back to the bookstore to find that incredible book I couldn't afford to buy before. Guess what? Couldn't find it, or my 3 by 5 card that I wrote the name on. But I did find a book called Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders- Frequently Asked Question by Diane Yapko. It was amazing. The book part is sparse and of course doesn't give enough credit to what most parents slugging through this have found to be true. What it does have is an incredible appendix. It's amazing. The books, websites, resource material. Yeah, it takes me a good week to put a packet together for a friend or parent that wants to know what resources I used to get ph better. This book had just about all of it. In fact, what it didn't contain is fine, because the books it referenced contain the remaining info. I just went through the appendix, highlighted all the relevant stuff, and handed the book over. I'm so excited. Makes it so much easier for me to convey info. You know, you hate to overwhelm parents that are just getting started, or are frustrated by stalled improvement. You want to share what you know, but it's different for every child, you're afraid to leave anything out. Anyway. Just thought I'd share, for any of you time crunch Moms out there that want to share, but want people to do a portion of the work themselves.
