Guest guest
, we did try modern medicine, so it wasn't brave of us to seek an alternative, we felt we had no choice. In fact, for one visit, we waited for 6 months to see a leading allergist in NY and was charged over $400 for the first visit. It took me about two minutes to size this physician up and realize that he had other motives in mind instead of the health of our son. He is the mind behind the upcoming peanut vaccine to help people tolerate peanuts if they have had an anaphalytic reaction. He is considered a reknown allergist and to me he will have a place in hell for knowingly profiting from the increase in allergies that he has been seeing. And I am certain that he knows vaccines have been contributing to this from the questionairre which we filled out specifically asking about any vaccine reactions. We also had a visit to a local Dan doctor after seeing our Naturopath. I was thinking that they could work together, but realized that the Naturopath offered more than the Dan doctor and was far less expensive. In fact, the Dan doctor said that if he could do it over again, he would have become a naturopath instead. That's when I realized that we were really on the right track. The Naturopath believes in healing the person, traditional medicine is more about prescribing a medicine to treat a specific problem. We were looking for complete healing if it was possible. Have we found complete healing? Well, not totally. I was hoping that our son would need no supplements, but I can live with the cod liver oil and calcium. I couldn't accept the other life that we were facing and had to believe that he would be restored, and he really is mostly. No one would ever know what we have been through unless I told them, and I have chosen to share our journey with only a few specifically because I don't want our son to be judged. However, everyone knew that he had reacted to vaccines, since his speech was initially so affected and I didn't know what was happening. I lost friends, but were they really friends if they didn't stand beside me? For our son, his stomach was so distended that I truly thought if I addressed his medical issues first than the behavioral issues would go away, and they have improved greatly. He is still stubborn, but loving, fun. I am so happy to have him, and realize that things could have turned out differently if had not been open to new ideas. But we were not brave. We orignially went the medical route via 2 allergists, 2 gastroenterologists, ents, 3 pediatricians, a Dan Doctor, etc, but I was not willing to give up. Life stopped for me for two years because I became so immersed in resolving this. The good news is that we have another baby boy who is now 18 months. He helps to take my mind off this. We stopped with vaccines after he reacted to his two month shots. He is perfect. No known allergies, or asthma and is progressing beautifully. I feel totally blessed and hope that we can put this chapter of our lives behind us, but it really took a lot out of me. So hang in there. I know what you are going through, but be strong. It will get better. Best of luck to you and your dear son, ph. You are a great mom... Joan
