Guest guest
The active ingredient in Valtrex, once circulating, attacks those cells carrying the herpes virus. It is a rather potent med. which is why dependent on age and weight the dosing differs. However, this med. supposedly is only activated by the virus, so if it encounters cells not carrying the virus, it just bounces on through the body, until it finds what it's looking for. Think of it as an ongoing tug of war. Hence the evenly spaced timing on the med. My son has been on it since this summer. He's not shown any lowering in his active levels of this virus, so we may be stopping this med. The Doctor that prescribed it, well, we aren't seeing eye to eye. He had me believing this virus was the root of our leaky gut and autism. Turns out, for us, the virus was just one more symptom of an underlying issue, like the autism, it cries out, " treat me, I'm doing damage " . However, for us, supplementation and treatment of another variety to boost his body and subsequently his immune system may be the way to go. Not to knock Valtrex, it did eliminate the remainder of his obsessive compulsiveness and his gross motor skills improved to the degree that he can hit a ball, throw a ball and catch a ball with great accuracy, force and consistency. This is just one example. It's really wonderful to watch him " play " and not get frustrated by what he wants to do because he can't coordinate his limbs. Good luck to you, hope this helps. Valtrex - is this a time release type med that gets releasedall at once? Is Valtrex one of those time released meds that get released all at once with the HN-ZYME and AFP Peptidize? What is people's experience with this? Thanks, Maureen (Sorry to be asking so many questions)
