Guest guest
Got a question I have taken my daughter off dairy, but I am a bit confused. Does that include chocolate? I know they said allergies to cows milk, and cheddar, and swiss cheese help narrow it down for me. Thanks le
Guest guest
Mickey - What universe are you living in? The statements you made are pretty ridiculous - Firemen and " good " students? Where in the world did that come from? Don't want to get this off topic - but if it would help the pain on a bad day I'd be first in line. P.S. I'm not an uninformed teenager. I'm 54 years old and have known many firemen and " good " students over the years that indulged occasionally. Maureen in Tn
Guest guest
in response to the discussion over " weed " i will have to side with the teen.... most people under 60 have done weed and it does have medicinal value....it does relieve pain and tension when used in moderation...also alleviates insomnia for some.... i am not a smoker at this time due to broncitis issues....but have partaken of it in the past on occassion. i do know many college educated and very intelligent successful people who use it daily ....(like having a beer after work)... it is natural....and we do ingest so many natural ingredients today in vitamin supplements and herbs....so...just my 2 cents....and i am over 40 ....supporting the whining teen today.....lol sorry you won't be able to partake of your weed...but...who knows....they may put it in a pill sometime when they get it all figured out....lol Pixy
Guest guest
I also have PA in my ribs and find that laying on my back with a feather pillow across my chest helps. I think it is a combo of the heat from the feathers and the weight of the pillow itself that helps. Gentle hugs Marie Z.

A pill would be great if it helped deal with the pain. JANET
Guest guest
Believe it or not it does come in a pill, I've had a rare patient on it in the past. If I remember correctly it's tetrahydracannabinol (THC).Mo
Guest guest
Do you really feel this way? I know this is over... I guess I am just shocked. I take great pride in the fact that I have never tried ANY illegal substances, and I have many friends that feel the same way. Sorry.. none of the intelligent, HIGHLY successful people I know smoke weed or do any other illegal drugs... they would lose their HIGH PAYING jobs if they did (including myself). Hmmm... if this is what " most " people have done, I guess I am more " abnormal " than I thought I was. ) I am pleased to be this way though. Guest guest
Do you really feel this way (read quote below)? I know this is over... I guess I am just shocked. Hmmm... if this is what " most " people have done, I guess I am more " abnormal " than I thought I was. It's a PERSONAL decision, but if you are a teen PLEASE SAY NO TO DRUGS!!!! Sorry, you aren't old enough to make such a choice yet. My mom asked this weekend what kept me from having sex, getting into drugs and drinking alcohol as a teen.. my answer... self respect, the fear of God, and first and foremost knowing I was not mentally mature enough to deal with the possible outcome of those decisions. It certainly wasn't the lack of opportunity.... it was good CHOICES. If you are old enough to make these decisions... GO FOR IT... if you are 17, please wait a few years! I think this is the first time I have ever felt out of place in this group. I am amazed at how many people are simply " ok " with this. P.S. My first love was a firefighter... and I have MANY friends in the field. None of them have ever even TRIED weed... yes, this is actually a conversation I have had with many of them. By the way, why don't I try weed now that I am old enough to make the decision? BECAUSE IT'S ILLEGAL AND I DON'T USE ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES!!! Guest guest
In agreement with you, but not something that is brought up anymore as it's illegal and becoming more socially unacceptable. Wish I could get my 17 year old son and 13 year old step-daughter to concur...sure would save us a lot of hassles with HUNT (Huron Undercover Narcotics Team)

Guest guest
In response to all the gaming responses. I don't know the age of most of the members kids on here, but my daughter (w ds) is now 3 1/2 and we bought her the color PIXTER when she was 2. She absolutely LOVES it, and so do her cousins (5 and 8) when they come over. They actually fight over who gets to play with it first. It is much more imaginative and creative than a Gameboy, and Linsey learned to use it almost immediately. If you have younger kids, that 1. are not able to run the controls on a Playstation yet, or if you are not comfortable with the games that they want to play on them. I cannot say enough good things about this " toy " I was a little worried at first to spend $75 on something that I thought she woud get bored with after a day, so we went back to the store several times over a few weeks, and she would play with the demo for at least an hour straight, or until I figured it was time to go. :-) Her therapists have also been amazed at her fine motor development. Holding the small pen that you use, she has developed leaps and bounds since using it. That's enough for my toy plug for today. One other note, spend the extra money for the color one, the games and options and graphics are SOOOOO much better than the B & W one, and that one would not hold her attention. On a separate note.... she has recently started pre-school and they have put her in a special needs class, but have not been impressed with the class so far. Anyone have any tips for rocking the boat a little. Maybe being able to get her into a typical class. They say because she is speech delayed that they cannot allow her in a typical class. But she attends a typical program after school, and has no problems there.. the kids and the teachers all love her, and they always know what she wants... (she is not shy about getting her point across) Thank you, e Mom to Linsey 3 (ds)
Guest guest
A child must first be given modifications to make the regular Ed classroom work, then and only then after failure can they suggest other placement. Did you agree to separate placement on an IEP before hand? Speech does not matter and neither does potty training when they enter the class. She gets an aide if she so needs one and modifications to the curriculum. Even to the height of the sand table if need be!!! Jean Calming down now. Guest guest
Hi, If they expect Linsey to begin to have language she will do so far quicker when she is with typical peers where she can pattern after their speech. That was one of the things that I discovered with my daughter when she started school. Yes the ST she had in PPCD was working some but her peer mentors taught her more many days than she was getting from the speech class. That was true also of many other aspects of her education so far and that is why the inclusion situation is so much better for our children when they are successful in it.
