Guest guest
I have had no problem with the ASA UNTIL NOW!...To try to take our rights to use the ribbon and its image unless we pay them to do so is absolutely crazy!!!....The reason they exist as an organization is due to the disorder our children deal with on a daily basis.....THEY ARE TRYING TO TAKE THE ONE THING THAT UNITES ALL AUTISM ORGANIZATIONS--THE AUTISM AWARENESS RIBBON!!!...WE NEED TO STOP THEM!!!!!!!! The Autism Society America is trying to get a trademark on the autism awareness ribbon pin with the puzzle piece. This would mean they would have sole rights to this ribbon and anyone else wanting to use the image or make the pin would have to pay them a royalty. If anyone thinks that this awareness ribbon should remain public domain please respond to the following links. Here is the ASA filing with the US Trademark Office and the Trademark Office call for opposition. Send a letter to the US Trademark Office opposing the filing. This is completely legal and you are exercising your legal right to oppose their application: Link to information on their application and its status: http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial & entry=76384137 Link to send feedback to the US Patent and Trademark office: http://www.uspto.gov/web/menu/feedback.html The following is a link to the lawyer assigned to this application. There is no e-mail address but people could phone her: http://pair.uspto.gov/cgi-bin/final/employee_loc.pl?NAME=MADDENANNE It is on the internet, so it is a public document and everyone is free to contact her about it.
