We need to do a biopsy of the liver. Back in March/April they thought I had hepatitis but the tests came back negative. So now I'm kinda scared, what can you tell me about this? Please, , you'll have a much better idea of where you stand after the biopsy, which isn't a difficult process for most people. If you have autoimmune hepatitis, there is a pretty standard routine for treatment. You will need to have blood tests quite frequently to adjust the dosage; insist that this be done. Most people with autoimmune hepatitis who respond to standard therapy have normal life spans. Remember that hepatitis just means irritation of the liver. There are several different kinds of hepatitis, and each has different characteristics and treatments. Autoimmune hepatitis is not contagious. You will probably want to get a standard reference book such as Palmer's Guide to Liver Disease. If you can't find it in a local bookstore, you can get it from Amazon.com or from her website, liverdisease.com. G. Worman also has a good basic reference book. These books cost well under $20. Best wishes. Harper

If you really like dried fruit you could have the equivalent carbs, say mixed with cottage cheese. Good luck! That's the point...it is just as easy to eat a cup of dried fruit as a cup of regular fruit and you would be getting tons more calories and sugar!
