My son is highly intolerant of phenols - no fruits or vegetables except

pears (which I know are high in phenols) but he can eat french fries with no

issue. It depends on the person.

When I spoke with Houston, they told me that phenols exist in

potatoes, many types of juice, and other root veggies. So,

basically, if he eats french fries at all, you will probably want to

go with the NF.

You can disagree with me if you want. You can believe whatever

sources you find to be most persuasive. My sources say pears and

apples are in the same food family, but apples are high salicylate and

pears are low. You can believe otherwise if you want.

I tend to believe actual reactions over " scientific studies " , so that

is where my bias comes from. But I have independent sources which

support my position.

If your child tolerates pears, then great!

According to my sources, which you are free to disbelieve, peaches are

high salicylate. But even when my son lost his phenol intolerance, he

still did not tolerate peaches or anything orange/red/green, even

when I used enzymes. So it might not be salicylates which are a

problem for your child, it might be color. It is *somewhat* related

to the principle behind lutein-free diet, sometimes known as Sara's

Diet. I have links on that on my phenol page, if you want to check it

out.

My son is losing all his food issues with chelation, but the

orange/green/red problem is the last one to go.
