the Sambucol is supposed to lessen the severity of the flu symptoms. Look for

it in your HFS.

Pump up the Vit. C.

Will she take frequent baths to help her fever? Ordinarily, I tell people to

let the fever burn up to a certain degree (for me, I feel comfortable letting

it get to 102.5ish) however, with a seizure disorder that is probably not a

good thing. You know more about that than I do.

I have made an herbal mixture that doesn't get rid of the flu but does help

the respiratory system.

In 2 oz of almond or jojoba oil, put 25 drops (1 1/2 ml) each of lavender,

clove, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils. Rub the mixture onto the chest.

If she understands not to rub her face, you can put some under her nose above

her lip. You don't want this to get into her eyes, though. For my kids, I do

the chest and then put some of the mixture on a tissue or hanky and hold it by

their noses.

Use a warm water vaporizer. Some come equipped to put eucalpytus into or even

the above mixture.

I would not venture to put forth what kind of drugs to use as I try to not do

them unless absolutely necessary so I am unsure. Check a homeopathic guide

for remedies as well.

Oh, I almost forgot. Take proteolytic enzymes between meals. Also, get a

strong antioxidant such as grape seen extract. Take both frequently.

Avoid dairy--mucus producing.

I hope she gets better soon!

>>>My daughter has the flu and she is miserable. I really need some

advice on how to get her through this. She has a seizure disorder so

I'm not sure what I can safely give her.

What I do regularly is to give lots of proteases (Peptizyde). If your

daughter is already accustomed to taking Peptizyde, I give 3-4

capsules every 3-4 hours from first thing in the morning to last

thing at night. Even a little more wouldn't hurt. In my house, it

cuts any illness here in half (half as severe and lasts half as

long). My older son had flu symptoms about 10 days ago and that is

what I did for him. He was better by the third day.

(another 10 year old girl died of flu this past weekend in a town 2

hours from us. very sad.)

Chicken soup is good, especially the homemade kind getting the broth

from a real chicken.

Vitamin C and zinc are common.

Something to help a high fever if she has a high fever.

twinlabs allergy a and d

the filler is potato starch so you need to tip the contents in the

mouth to mix with siliva before swallowing.

@115 lbs i was taking about four capsules spaced through one day

then maybe two or three the next day then one the next, so basically

it was a three day flu with that.

don't know anything about the impact on seizures.

Get your doc to give her a prescription for the Tama-flu. It stops the flu

symptoms. Worked great for my son last year.

How about this Sambucol that Devin Houston and others have recently

recommended? The important ingredient is Elderberry Extract.

On my local message board, many people have had good success with olive leaf

extract.

, A few weeks ago I was around my mom when she had the

flu. I felt it coming on, so for two days I took olive leaf extract

two times a day and that REALLY helped. And I am pretty sure it is

safe for your daughter.

So much stuff running around in my brain, can't harness it all. But, I do know

Olive Leaf extract is a natural antiviral. There was some stuff, can't recall

exactly where, that mentioned it shortened or lessened the severity of a virus.

Perhaps when she's taking a nap you can research it a little on the internet.

Just a drop or two, we put ours in an empty enzyme capsule, but others who take

it straight say it tastes like prune juice and can be easily hid in juice. I'm

sorry your munchkin is sick. We usually double our enzymes during an illness.
