Guest guest
: Can you please help me out on this one? We are working with Pfieffer on getting copper out of my son - but I noticed on their treatment program, no selenium, no molybdenum. Aren't these two needed to make this work ? Their plan, right now, calls for manganses, vit e, biotin, all the Bs, zinc picolinate, and glutathione cream. We have not started their program yet. I was to " zinc load " him first, slowly building to 50 mg, and then start the program. But, my son broke out in a really bad rash after upping the zinc to 50. So now we have to wait another week, give him a break, and start over with the zinc at a lower dose. I appreciate any expertise you can lend. When I asked one of the Pfieffer nurses " why isn't selenium or molybdenum on this prescription plan " she said I needed to schedule a phone consultation with one of the doctors and ask them . Uggh.. Thanks in advance-
Guest guest
in my honest opinion pfieffer have lost the plot. you are better to do the supplements yourself. you have to be careful to get a mixed tocotrienol vitamin e and not a straight d alpha tocopherol. and not to much. i really think the optizinc zinc methionine(usually includes a touch of copper which is not a problem) is better than zinc picolinate though short periods of zinc picolinate do offer a benefit, but it really impacts badly on behavior. don't load just find some suitable dose and continue with it. you can't load until all the other minerals are in place or things get too out of balance and once the other minerals are in place you don't need to load. 50mg is way too much, i'd just use 10 mg or something, 10 mg over a while starts to add up. there is an opinion that manganese is also need with zinc, but some low dose like 10 or 5 mg spares the other minerals in ratio if you see what i mean. you need to think about iodine as well, iodine, zinc and selenium are the tyroid triad. (+ manganese as well) > : > > Can you please help me out on this one? > > We are working with Pfieffer on getting copper out of my son - but I > noticed on their treatment program, no selenium, no molybdenum. > Aren't these two needed to make this work ? Guest guest
am still working on a suitable tococpherinol, am currently using the twinlabs maxi life rice tocotrienols, but its very exspenive and has to much d alpha in. you don't want to get a combined selenium and vitamin e because it locks you into unsuitalbe ratios and limits the types to much. iodine in this list http://members.tripod.com/mueller_ranges/links/compendium/compendium.h tml opti zinc is a patented zinc form and is avialable from several suppliers. am currently using the 'now' brand.you really want it as stand alone as possible, i think the soalray b6 one has to much b6 in. http://www.nutraceutical.com/search/view_product.cfm? product_index=4707 > > > > > > > > you have to be careful to get a mixed tocotrienol vitamin e and > not > > a straight d alpha tocopherol. and not to much. > > *****What brand of mixed tocotrienol?
