Back in my days before I studied CFS I was trying ADD drugs to help with my

brainfog. I took Ritalin and Adderall and both raise dopamine but I don't

know if they also raise norepinephrine or not but if not then they raised it

indirectly which gave me a sense of panic when I adjusted the dosage to high

at first. I have never read anything about dopamine raising epinephrine

though, but raising norepinephrine would make sense.

non-medical people like myself.

Some of you have been asking about breakfast ideas, and I wanted to share

some of what I frequently do...I try to think outside the " box " of traditional

breakfast foods and incorporate more vegetables (since grains and fruits tend to

create some problems for us...

First off I must tell you that I try to think RAW foods

like my famous CUAVAMATO rollup (one of my favorite breakfasts)

the only bread product I eat is the EZEKIAL sprouted grain tortillas they

come in two sizes

chop up 1/2 avacado small plum tomato and some cucmber roll it up in a

tortilla you can season with whatever you like...I personally use BRAGGSRaw

Organic

Apple Cider Vinegar which although some belive no vinegar on candida diet, I

have also read to the contrary...I feel the ACV is beneficial

Sometimes I have steamed veggies like broccoli

Sometimes I have spaghetti squash

sometimes tuna or egg salad in the aforementioned tortillas (I make my own

mayo!!!)

If I am in my SPROUTING MODE (sprouting can be a fun cheap hobby as well as

body beneficial)

I sprout some grains like quinoa or buckwheat and eat them as a cereal with

some soaked almonds (sprouted grains do not react the same way as cooked

grains in the system)

I say to Heck with what we have traditionally eaten for breakfast, eat what

you need and THINK MORE RAW FOODS I don't consider myself a raw foodist nor a

" sproutarian " but just someone who recognizes the immense value of looking

beyond what our society approaches as " normal " meals...just some FOOD FOR

THOUGHT.

Just read the report on inulin from Duncan's website...

and I wanted to share another food idea especially since reading I learned

that BELGIAN ENDIVE (the leaves from chicory) is relatively high in naturally

occuring inulin I LOVE USING The leaves as a natural " wrap " or cup for

chopped eggs, tuna or chicken salad...it seems " bitterness " is a factor in many

of

items listed containing natural inulin (dandelion, endive/chicory) in

herbalistic studies, these are hepatic action, helping the liver...

Endive is not inexpensive but yet another alternative to helping us keep out

grains

other " wrap " ideas not using grains (let's get creative!) you can put

anything in:

LETTUCE GREEN or RED (not iceberg but leaf lettuce)

NORI (seaweed sheets used for sushi and I love that wasabi)

For me as I recall, including " bitter " foods has helped with curbing some of

the cravings, it is when I neglect to include them that I backslide (damn that

Halloween candy) I must admit it isn't always easy

try to think raw/uncooked for those natural enzymes!

Watch out for that wasabi. It can contain lots of sorbitol. Sorry, I love wasabi

too!

Hi ,

Ask Dr. Saul Pressman, the ozone guru, the tough questions:

spressman@... or ask them on the oxyplus or ozonetherapy

groups.

The easier questions I can handle; for example the exact oils that

attract oxygen/ozone are ssential fatty acids in the unsaturates and

polyunsaturates. The components of several food oils and their

peroxidation indexes are part of a worksheet on my website; you can

Hi - I'm an RD working with bariatric patients in Washington DC. I'm relatively new to bariatrics and have been lurking here for several months - I've learned a LOT, which is wonderful because I'm the only RD with our program, and they haven't had ANY RD for 6 mo or so prior to that.

Recently several of you have referred to the SORD paper - what is that? Googling SORD brings up a lot of stuff, none of it related to nutrition . . . .

We use this application and have found the customer service to be verygood. It's a web-based program, which makes is easily accessible. It's pretty used friendly, but does require some training. My only

complaint is that the pages tend to take some time to load, sodocumentation is a more lengthy progress.Deirdre , MS, RD, LDN

i have a quick question for everyone...i just got to work so i havent really been able to research this so i figured id send out an email first :)i have a post op RNY pt..bun/cr 40/2.0receives dialysis 3x/week - nephrologist has him already on soy milk vs cows milk

noted with stage 3 kidney diseasehe is 5'11 i believe he was around 350 lbsi had another rd tell me that she is only going to allow this pt to have 80 gms of pro /day because this was standard with that population

i have never heard of this beforei thought recommendations were 1.1-1.4 g/ kg have you ever heard that dialysis pts only need 80 g/dayany articles or websites would be appreciatedthanks Miceli MA, RD, LDN

pre-op protein fasts

What do you think is the max amt of carbs appropriate for the 2 week pre-op protein fast? I find compliance is low with less than 50 grams and the SORD paper notes that 100 g/d of carbs decreases nitrogen loss

by 40% in modified protein fasts. Would 100 g/day max still help with liver shrinkage? Thanks as always-Darawww.darabergen.com

We use this application and have found the customer service to be verygood. It's a web-based program, which makes is easily accessible. It's pretty used friendly, but does require some training. My only

complaint is that the pages tend to take some time to load, sodocumentation is a more lengthy progress.Deirdre , MS, RD, LDN

I'm so appreciative for what I have learned from being on this listfor the last few months. Thanks to everyone for your information,advice, and helping hands you give every day. I will be taking (and

passing, hopefully!) my RD exam at the end of this week, and I amexcited to start my career as a bariatric dietitian. I hope you alldon't mind if I ask for a little help from this knowledgeable andconnected group.

I am looking for a job as a bariatric dietitian in the Los Angelesarea, but I have not had much luck finding a position, yet. I live inWest LA and have a wide range of areas close to me: from Long Beach to

the south, the Valley to the north, to east of downtown LA andeverything in between. After losing over 100 pounds myself 15 yearsago, I'm excited to finally be able to work with others to show themthe brand new exciting life I have been able to lead since losing the

weight. I am an experienced professional with a previous 10 yearcareer as a Marketing Director, so I believe I have both the skillsand the passion to succeed. I just need to find the right place!If you know of any opportunities in my area or have any advice you

i have a quick question for everyone...i just got to work so i havent really been able to research this so i figured id send out an email first :)i have a post op RNY pt..bun/cr 40/2.0receives dialysis 3x/week - nephrologist has him already on soy milk vs cows milk

noted with stage 3 kidney diseasehe is 5'11 i believe he was around 350 lbsi had another rd tell me that she is only going to allow this pt to have 80 gms of pro /day because this was standard with that population

i have never heard of this beforei thought recommendations were 1.1-1.4 g/ kg have you ever heard that dialysis pts only need 80 g/dayany articles or websites would be appreciatedthanks Miceli MA, RD, LDN

pre-op protein fasts

What do you think is the max amt of carbs appropriate for the 2 week pre-op protein fast? I find compliance is low with less than 50 grams and the SORD paper notes that 100 g/d of carbs decreases nitrogen loss

by 40% in modified protein fasts. Would 100 g/day max still help with liver shrinkage? Thanks as always-Darawww.darabergen.com
