Guest guest
Hi Donna, I'm 30 and have ADD/Aspergers (and a whole lot of other things they don't have a name for yet involving PFC, frontal lobe, etc.), high mercury levels, dysbiosis, etc. I grew up with strep throat once or twice a month from about 3 or 4 until I was 16, when they finally took my tonsils out. I stopped getting strep throat, and the next month, I got my first sinus infection. They plagued me for another 8 years until I fired my doctor and read " Sinus Survival " by Ivker. All it took to go from 20 sinus infections/year to 1 or 2 was hot salt water and the willingness to use it. I've since added xylitol and baking soda to the mix. You basically wash out your nose with it, or use it as a nasal spray. Xylitol gum chewed after every meal, especially sugary/wheat meals, will help a lot. Guaifenesin will help a lot with nasal drip and won't make kids insane. (ask the dr. for Guaibid; it's much better than drinking Robitussin, which uses guafenisin along with dyes and sugar and some psychoactive crap). Your best bet is to get rid of metals, heal the gut (check out SanPharma stuff), use amino acids, and let the immune system work. I've read a few things about tonsils playing a role in immune function. To this day (14 years later) I still wish I had my tonsils - they were removed out of ignorance, not need. Just got back from seeing the ear nose and throat doctor and he tells me we basically have two choices, the first is treating ph's chronic strep with antibiotics (which most of you know causes a whole other set of problems) and the second, tonsillectomy. I have contacted my DAN doc and am awaiting his take on this. I would like to know if any of you have had to make this decision? I look forward to hearing your advice. Thanks! -Donna
