Guest guest
Hi, everyone, I am new to the group and in the middle of reading 's book. My son Scout (4.10) has a dx of PDD-NOS and is also hyperlexic. The neurologist who diagnosed him said that since he is so high- functioning, the dx was a slight stretch (mostly to get him services, if necessary). Anyway, for the last month I have been wading through all the biomedical treatments: DAN!, Dr. Shaw's book, MANY articles on the internet, etc. We started the GF/CF diet two weeks ago, and have been doing vitamin supplements for about a month. He is going to OT once a week and speech twice a week, and is in a regular preschool. I want to believe that the enzymes will help him, but so far I haven't seen anything REALLY help him yet. I am scared to get my hopes up! I have read all the success stories, yet I am still not sure. Also, why have I not read about enzyme success anywhere else? I have seen them mentioned briefly as a possible supplement to other treatments, but not much more than that. Sorry this was so long! Any info would be appreciated.
