Guest guest
Hi I hope the enzymes really work out. It seems that a restrictive diet would be very difficult in your situation, if not impossible. I think the enzymes are less complicated overall. The thing that was most frustrating to the GFCF diet is that there was also some unknown or something was said to be 'wrong' with the food. So no matter how hard I tried (or no matter how much money we spent) it was never good enough and you always felt like a failure. Espeically since the diet demands 100% compliance. Now, of course, we have alternatives, know we don't really have to worry about every single molecule, can ignore the poison/antedote mantra, and other things. I think parents have enough to deal with as it is. The link to enzyme site I am working on (bit by bit) is www.enzymestuff.com. Pretty much all the information in the Files secton is at the enzyme site, so whichever is the easier to get to is great. Since phenols may be a issues this page may help: www.enzymestuff.com/epsomsalts.htm I like epsom salts because they do so much and they are CHEAP!!! LOL. >>> My questions are these..... > 1. Has anyone used just enzymes and seen great results without ever trying GFCFSF? yes, many people do now and get good results. Some get better results that doing both GFCF and enzymes. You may find you still need to remove a food or ingedient, but enzymes are pretty efficient. >>> 2. How many enzymes would I need to order to keep up with both boys and how long will a bottle last? I would plan on 1 Peptizyde and 1 Zyme Prime per kid per meal. If they are grazers put the enzymes in a cool drink (or add ice) and let them take a drink of the enzyme beverage before each snacking time. This is actually what I do personally although my sons just swallow the capsules at meal time. >>> 3. Are the enzymes in pill ( capsule ) form...and if so...How do you get your little ones to take them? Yes, in capsules that open. You can take out the amount you want and 'click' the capsule back together saving the rest for another time. Here are some mixing ideas: www.enzymestuff.com/discussionmixing.htm >>>> 4. Could someone please tell me exactly what I should be ordering? Houston? And do I need to get No -Fenol too? Just start with Peptizyde (probably AFP version) and Zyme Prime. See how it goes. Maybe look at the epsom salts (at local grocer). Then later consider No-Fenol only if you think you need it. Not too many things at once. >>> Can I expect to see illness as a result of die off? Maybe, but starting slow will really minimize this. Here is a link to possible adjustment effects. You may see one or more, or none. Most relate to the body healing and just processing more food: http://www.enzymestuff.com/discussionadjustments.htm >>>> 6. For kids with Phenol problems should I then be looking at the AFP Pep instead of just peptizyde? Sounds like a good idea. >>>> I am trying to learn as fast as I can...LOL....But sometimes when I think I have it figured out..I see something new I know. And then you start thinking, " Huh. Maybe I should be doing that too?! " Just pick a couple things and focus on that, then add one more, then one more. Usually you will start to realize that something that one person raves about is not necessary for your situation simply because each person has a different set of things to deal with. I had to deal with bacteria overgrowth but not yeast. A lot of people have yeast. Some people are deeply into detox protocols because they need to be. That is not something our family needs to do though. However, I spend time looking at proper bowel elimination and sensory issues, whereas others do not. So don't assume you need to do something because someone else is. That can relieve a lot of pressure right there. .
