Oh...., this is such a sad, sad post...

weren't you able to leave the diet, even occassionally with the HNI

enzymes? You tried them in the beginning and I don't recall if you

just chose not to leave the diet, or could not. I think this is one

of the biggest reasons that it is essential to have research and

products that CAN replace the diet. Because many people just won't

or can't follow it.

If an older child must have the diet, maybe they will learn to stick

it out because they feel better. Most people using Peptizyde can

leave the diet if they like. And many doctors approve of this. But

you know your own situation best. Perhaps by the time he is a teen

there will be other options or meds available to help.

My experience is that we needed to watch every dot of casein in the

beginning with enzymes. But over time this became less and less, so

now we are quite sloppy about it and there is not problem at all.

This tells me that enzymes were healing in their work and not just

treading water. Unfortunately, most people doing GFCF continue to go

downhill a bit over time where more and more foods need to be

eliminated...and as you said, it stays that way...then you are stuck

there. That was not something I wanted to do. Of course, your son

may grow out of his need too. Some people with allergies or

intolerances naturally grow out of them.
