Guest guest
Dear Everyone, I saw this product in a HFS. It seemed like a nice idea -- and I wrote the company. Below is my letter to them and their reply to me. Anybody else use this product? Thanks, marti Subj: Inquiry about heavy metals Date: 05/05/03 15:31:34 GMT Daylight Time From: vala@... MarthaRolfe@... Sent from the Internet (Details) Dear Martha Rolfe: Thank you very much for you inquiry and interest in our products. Your concerns and questions are very understandable. You are wise to be careful with your child's health and to ask appropriate questions. ConcenTrace which is our main mineral/ trace mineral product is sold as a liquid and in tablet form and is also used as an ingredient in almost all of our various products. It is unclear which specific product you have been looking at but the answer should be basically the same for all of our products even though products such as our Electro-Vita-Min have other nutrients added. ConcenTrace is a natural, concentrated mineral brine which comes from the Great Salt Lake in Utah. It is concentrated through a natural process of evaporation and as it concentrated, most of the sodium and potassium precipitate out with some of the chloride. This leaves ConcenTrace with a rich amount of magnesium along with a full spectrum of other trace elements. Due to the high concentration of the brines/ minerals in the Great Salt Lake (GSL), heavy metals such as lead and mercury do not stay in solution. Some years ago there was even a study on the GSL to find out if minerals such as gold, mercury, and other heavy metals could be mined from the brines but it was discovered that due to the nature of the lake, the heavy metal concentration in the lake was actually lower than in the drinking water in Salt Lake City. The spectrum of minerals as naturally occurring in the seas of the world is also something that is easy for the body to deal with. Basically, all living things have a very similar mineral balance in their blood and lymphatic fluid to what is found in sea water. This is why scientists believe that all life evolved from the seas. Many of the trace elements found in ConcenTrace are actually in extremely low levels such as parts per trillion. We believe that these ultra trace amounts are likely to serve more of a homeopathic type benefit for health as opposed to serving a physiological function. We do regularly analyze our product for mineral and trace mineral content. We do have copies of certificates of analysis that could be provided if you wish but they would need some explanation. We also regularly test our minerals various other potential contaminants to ensure that the product is pure when you receive it. We have been selling minerals and trace minerals from the Great Salt Lake since 1969 with numerous satisfied customers from around the world and the use of minerals and trace minerals from sea sources for health dates back much further than our company has been in existence. So, please be assured that you are not creating a toxicity problem for your child in using our products. In fact, cleansing has been one of the historical uses of sea water. Also, as it relates to heavy metal toxicity, one of the modern treatments for mineral toxicity is to give the patient a balance of other minerals and trace elements which helps the body to balance the overall mineral ratios. Thank you again for your inquiry. Please let me know if I might be of any additional assistance. Sincerely, Val Director of Sales and Marketing Mineral Resources International 1990 West 3300 South Ogden, UT 84401 (801) 731-7040, ext. 310 (801) 731-7985 - FAX vala@... > MRI Contact Page > > > Dear Sir or Madam, > > I saw your product at a health food shop here in England. Guest guest
Hi Marti-- no, I haven't used that one... so far, the only multi- liquid supp that I can find without those " trace " amounts of the bad things is Eniva. I haven't ordered it yet... it's rather pricey, but I might try it just once. I am also thinking of buying liquid minerals individually as I've read that when you can " taste " them, then you probably don't need much of that particular mineral anymore. I have some zinc sulfate from Thorne that is a liquid and sure enough, as I've been taking some extra zinc, now I can taste it and it isn't like water anymore. It's nice that the company was willing to send you lab reports for quality testing. That is reassuring. W > Dear Everyone, > > I saw this product in a HFS.
