Probably, altho you might want to consider adding enzymes and/or removing/rotating foods. For example, which HNI enzymes do you use? You might want to add another one, depending on which ones you use. Or your child might still not tolerate certain foods, even with enzymes, so if you rotate foods and keep a journal, you can figure out what that might be. Or after a few weeks things might improve on their own. I am asking > because we are coming up on the time we are supposed to be working > with Dr. Krigsman. I don't know if you should reschedule or cancel the doctor visit. I think might have other ideas for you, because it is her son who apparently has the same problem as yours. Glad he is improving! Guest guest
A good probiotic would probably be a benefit to helping heal the gut, in addition to the enzymes. I wouldn't say this is the extent of help the enzymes will give you. The healing process is rather long, depending upon the amount of damage, and what other issues were allowed to settle in and amplify the injury ( fungal, viral, bacterial, etc.) diarhea/HNI/ZINC DanaHelp HI Dana, You and I believe Lynn have helped me out before. You may remember my story, 3 1/2 yr ASD son, diarhea forever tried everything under the sun, including keto. Suggestions were to try increasing zinc and using HNI. Well we have done this for the past two weeks. Increased total zinc to 40mgs (40lb kid) and switched from kirkman enzymes to HNI AFP and Zyme Prime. I have seen major improvements but still not all the way. Went from 3X (or more) BMs very foul to 1 X per day very soft (occasionally but rarely formed) but not foul at all, with minimal undigested food. (we also had the miracle of becoming urine potty trained in 1 day). My question is: can I expect to see improvements in BMs over the next weeks/months while the gut contuinues to heal? I am asking because we are coming up on the time we are supposed to be working with Dr. Krigsman. If I can expect additional improvement with out invasive intervention, I will postponne the visit. What do you think? I am I correct in hoping for more improvement or is this usually as good as it gets? Not complaining, we have come along way but we are still not there yet. Appreciate any advice. Thanks,Fran
Guest guest
Since Dana mentioned me I guess I need to address your post too. If the doctor you mention has a good reputation, I would keep the appointment. I have not gone to a DAN doctor for lack of insurance and money. I am slowly uncovering what I can do to help my son but feel I may be slowed down by doing it myself. Some doctors may be more of a hinderance than a help so it is important to know his reputation. My son's diahrea has greatly improved since giving him zinc but still is not 100%. I still don't have the next piece of the puzzle. Houston enzymes (Peptizyde & Zyme) have helped my son greatly developmentally but he is still not talking (saying only about 2 words per day). I am seeing new improvements all the time though. In the last month he has actually made 2 friends at school and has been heard saying " my turn " or " swing me " to one of them. He has been taking enzymes consistently since December. At first in addition to the GFCFSF diet but now in addition to GF diet only. Regardless, I have not chelated him and I am always wondering how he would be if I did. I feel like we are working on taking care of symptoms but without chelation, not really getting down to the root of the problem. > > I am asking > > because we are coming up on the time we are supposed to be working > > with Dr. Krigsman. But you helped this person previously, so I thought your opinion would be very helpful. Dana
